probably the worst home console of all time exclusives wise.

 

best part about it is the 360 titles like skate 3 and the classic CODs all still have a tonne of players thanks to backwards compat on XB1.

 

I was thinking about picking up a SAD edition just so I can play skate 3 again. good times.

They fucked up hard at the beginning and lost sight of making AAA quality games for the most part.  But ultimately I think that if MS can bounce back from this, they can bounce back from anything.. and now we have a MS more focused on the consumer than ever before.

 

They really just need great games.

it would take them literally years of putting out exclusive AAA bangers and nothing short of that to reclaim the lost perception from this gen.

 

it's pretty much impossible, this gen cemented them as the 'other' console, and the shittier of the two options.

 

it's over, sony will be #1 for the next decade+

It was pretty much garbage through and through. And I don’t think they really have any hope of making a difference next gen or ever even if they change their entire strategy.

 

one thing I can say I admire with the North American market is they’re very fickle and adjust to the times. PS3 was pretty garbage in its first few years with shitty games that preformed worse. No one wanted that crap and 360, understandably sold better during that time. 
 

In Europe PS3 was basically a huge success over anything even during the years when it was a turd in a box.

 

im glad there’s no brand sheep like that here  because I’ve seen Nintendo be number 1, then Sony, then for a blink of an eye Xbox, then back to Sony. The better product always sells better, which is what PS4 provides. Though switch is now winning kinda since they’re providing some legit bangers now.

 

i read that Nintendo was never popular in Europe till wii and the Genesis (mega drive) beat the snes. That is crazy.
