Both of those describe Xbox.

Wish you'd do that for all your posts

DynamiteCop is clueless about game design etc.   bbbbut MS will make two completely different versions instead of just up porting :awww:

You guys are absolutely retarded and you're going to get raped, actual developers are actively contradicting these armchair statements.

I know lemmings have have stockholm syndrome at this point, but it's natural to launch a system with exclusives to give it value and a greater incentive to buy it. It's the natural behaviour of any normal platform holder not chained down by a shit service like game pass.

No one really wants their next gen system to be a glorified X/Pro model for the first 2 years. Hardware upgrades are nice, and a great reason to buy a system. But the core reason for any sane person especially if they own a Pro or an X, it's not that great of a deal since for many exclusives not playable on older consoles is MANDATORY before you buy into next gen. Especially if they're great games like a ground up Demon Souls Remake for PS5.

The whole irony of this situation is that Dynamite for example bought Zelda BOTW on Wii U not Switch, and that thing is a worthless piece of shit compared to Pro/X.

If you own a One S though, it's better to dump that POS asap. But even then for many people that's not enough without exclusives

So this would be like if SEGA announced in 1999 the next games for next gen will not be next gen exclusive.

Can you imagine if SEGA said that?

It would mean games launched for Dreamcast would also be for Saturn, what kind of inbetween games would that have looked

It would be equivalent to PS/N64 quality because devs would not have the focus of building game engines from the ground up to work specifically with new hardware. Good thing this is just a dumb hypothetical, no one would actually do this...

all those razzle dazzle next gen graphics you all predicted was going to start when XSX arrive is not going to happen.

Expect more polished version of the Xbox One: Cyberpunk 2077 to arrive in Nov 2020 with the XSX version release.  :D

Saturn and Wii U flopped hard so it's natural for people to move on from those systems. One did underperform compared to the 360, but it's not a complete flop, so for many they need exclusives to jump into the next XBox. MS will start building their next gen console library two years into the gen, and that by itself makes it a shit deal.

if you're expecting MS to make two completely different versions of each cross gen game.... instead of up-porting 99% of tgw games....

You will be disappointed.

How many AAA first party games that fall into this kind of graphical disparity category are you thinking are going to release in the first year or so? I mean lets be real here, maybe 3-4? It's not like it's some massive undertaking, they can contract it, they can do it themselves, mechanically it might not even be inhibiting from the onset.

There's so many variables none of you take into account and just run to the end of the road screaming.

Lemmings are just blowing hopes and dreams up THEIR OWN ASSES at this point.

This isn't even a debate........because we already know the answer to this scenario.

This scenario has already occurred: Developing true 4K games for XBX.

In late summer 2016, I was on the Sidescrollers.net forum saying that third-party developers are not going to go very far out of their way to push a true 2160p version of their game for ONE particular hardware sku.

If the PS4pro hardware capability was limiting them around 1440p, chances are, they would build similar to the PS4pro, and then simply up the resolution as much as possible while maintaining a proper framerate. They were not going to try and spend months optimizing to push it to true 4K.

And I estimated that most of these games would end up around 1800p on the XBX. That's exactly what happened, in addition to developers just wholeheartedly adopting Dynamic Resolution in all games after 2017, because they probably got tired and just wanted a solid framerate to get the game out the door.

And then in 2019 it got even worse.......developers just stopped caring about XBX and didn't even bother to improve that version past the PS4pro version. Why? Because Xbox sales slowed down, so why would third party developers put the effort?

For fucks sakes. Microsoft should've put the effort to make Crackdown 3 have more special effects on the XBX version.  They didn't do shit.

X has almost double the usable RAM of Pro and Mordor is the only game that has "4K textures". Not even MS first party bothered with that shit. That's all you need to know.

So.lemmimgs can go fuck themselves with "scalability" especially now that there are bigger differences between One and Series X. RAM, SSD, CPU. No wonder they are hyping nonsense like 120 FPS for the next Gears game.

This thread is about MS' first party.... and most of your post is droning on about 3rd parties...

Adding a little comment about Crackdown 3 just so you can pretend you're staying on topic is laughable  MS put in effort in their own first party games.  Remember when you were told that the Xbox One X was being built to play their XO games at 4K?  And that 3rd party developers were free to do what they wanted?  Remember when you were told that the X1X was balanced to meet that end... and that most of MS' games would be native 4K.

Remember how that actually happened... and you were butthurt about it and ran to thinks like "less than ultra PC settings" to try to win an argument you had already lost long ago?  Now you're whining that CD3 should have had more effects?  LOL no sweetie... the X1X was designed to play XO games at higher resolutions... with MS pushing for 4K.

That's what happened.   So talking about 3rd parties in an effort to build an analogy between this topic and yours is bullshit.  Talk about the topic of MS' first party exclusivity or GTFO

I didn't run over to anything............because I predicted those low-medium setting at the SAME TIME in late Summer 2016.

nice try,

Its not like we have any real examples........Microsoft didn't release barely any games after 2017. lol

You did...  and your strawman argument back then didn't help you... It wont here either.

You just admitted I correctly said all those things back then, including the low-medium settings.

Thank you.

I don't need them to "help" me.......because I was already correctly.

Sorry, but your ret-conning bullshit isn't going to work.

Microsoft did almost no improvement to graphical effects from BASE Xbox versions, the only except I can think of is adding more grass in the Halo MCC.

Gears 5 is even criticized for being a barren open-world, and as noted here on this very forum........it got downgraded from the preview footage as well.

Not looking good.
