CDPR: No current plans for next gen version of Cyberpunk 2077

Not surprised. This game is basically going to be this generation's swan song, all of their effort is being put into the current gen version which is how it should be. No point in them biting off more than they can chew by quickly pumping out a slightly shinier version for the new consoles. Im sure it will come eventually, but now's not the time.

They're lying.

In a Q&A session about their recent announcement of the delay, someone asked if this delay means that there's not going to be a crunch time period.  And the head CDPR guy said that there actually is going to be a studio-wide crunch time that has already begun. he also said that the game was totally playable right now, that this entire period is meant for bugs and polish.

They're prepping multiple versions of the game, and need to spend more time tweaking both potential versions.

CDPR has nothing to prove. Everyone and their mothers will buy Cyberpunk even if some of those people plan on making the jump to next gen. They're focused on making the best possible game for the 130+ million install base of the current consoles and have no reason to rush out another version in time for the new ones.

they'll have the games forward optimized for next gen systems. that way, there's no double dipping needed.

This game has been in dev for quite awhile . I doubt the delay was to make it next gen ish.

It's ready gonna look pretty amazing on current gen . I'm sticking with leaving an option for unlocked res and fr .

That alone will probably make it comparable if not more impressive than most launch next gen games

Absolute bs but it’s why they gotta say. They’ll sell bazillions for $60 this gen then a bazillion more for a complete next gen version. It will be the next GTAV

I bet not even Rockstar knew that last-gen/next-gen idea of placing GTA5 in early 2013 was going to sell at much as it did.

I was convinced Rockstar was rushing to ship out maybe a "prologue" portion of GTA 6 before the gen is over so that they can get huge sales on the outgoing consoles, and then have a finished full-version of the game for next-gen.

I last played GTA5 almost 7 years ago.
