gears 5 wasn't good enough to beat death stranding's graphics :D 

 

and gears 5's run/duck against wall/jump mechanic is archaic. it's very 2006. garbage franchise.

The Coalition is definitely capable of more, or different.  But within the Gears franchise they are limiting themselves.

 

I agree with GD in some ways.  The visuals are quite incredible at times.. but there's some very generic looking aspects to the game.  That's just fact.  They've limited themselves to "Gears formula + shinier" instead of really taking the gameplay systems and the visual identity to another level.

 

It feels like "Gears" for sure.... but it's also completely understandable how people could think it feels "dated" now as well.

 

They need to really change it up.
