If "next gen PS5 games" don't look appreciably better than Xbox Series X "cross gen" games... then Sony is going to have some explaining to do... and in all honesty.. nothing from Sony's event really screamed "not possible to port to current gen" with some smart logical changes. Ratchet and clank..... and Horizon 2 cannot run on current gen without SIGNIFICANT cutbacks and redesign to how the game world was built, how the game was designed and even the gameplay would be impacted. the gameplay of Ratchet would not be feasible on Current gen. 10 to 15 seconds pauses everytime a portal opens up in the middle of gameplay... multiply that by let's say 10 portals per stage just for arguments sake and when multiple portals open up as once.... that would get real stuttery really quickly on current gen.... yikes Not every game you release for a new console should be cross gen for 2 to 3 years..... that's insane.... This also contradicts what Phil said earlier about Xbox1 not holding back series X. What is it thats going to encourage people to get new hardware when most of the games won't be built for it? But even in the case that they were, a lot of people would just get the superior PC versions since Xbox has almost no exclusives anymore. This series of consoles has nothing going for it. You're not grasping the concept, it's not about selling consoles, it's allowing people the choice of any way they want to access their ecosystem. They don't care if you have an Xbox One, a Series X or a PC, as long as you consume their content. They're going to give you the best possible version of that content for the platform you choose.
