what sony got right with their conference, and ms got wrong with theirs

Recommended Posts

the series x is a beast. there's no debating that. however, there wasn't a single game that showed off those beefy specs

sony hyped up its ssd and they showed a great example of how it can be used to do concepts, previously impossible on consoles

the instant loading of different, dense environments is mind-blowing. there was not a single game in the ms show that came close to this, even visually.

PS5 exclusives:

Astro Playroom
Demon Souls
Gran Turismo 7

Ratchet Clank
Returnal
Sackboy big adventure

Console exclusives

Deathloop
Ghost wire Tokyo
God Fall
Kena
Jett the Far Shore
Oddworld
Project athia
Solar Ash
Bugsnax

its all right there. and think about how much actual gameplay we saw in the trailers for these games compared to Fable, Hellblade, Forza.

Except Sony's conference showed a loading screen.

any "load screen" was practically non-existent. the point is, sony nailed their objective and ms nailed the lems.

There wasn't a single game that was graphically impressive. They could have at least shown a bit more of Hellblade 2, but even that showing was disappointing.

That Hellblade footage wasn't in game that's why they had non to show.

It was 24 fps of "in engine" footage

The fact that they were including ports like Tetris Effect in their 'world premiere' lineup speaks volumes. MS' output of games has been pathetic for a long time, and things aren't going to improve anytime soon. Sony and Nintendo are going to eat them alive next gen.

Microsoft's IP just isn't in the least bit appealing and what was has been fucked up by underqualified development teams or poorly managed. The only studio worth a shit is making a Fable MMO. :D

Phil really has ran the Xbox brand into the ground. Microsoft should just kill Xbox altogether and focus on their Game Pass service. It's really the only thing they put any effort into.

I don't understand the point is making a 12TB system but then tying the anchor that is OG Xbox1 onto ir by making the majority of your games cross gen for the next 2 to 2.5 years.... :mjpls:

The Xbox1 userbase isn't even that large for MS to try to hold on to.  They could have started on a clean slate with new momentum and changed the Xbox narrative for next gen.

Instead we get this.

But there was a loading screen and that just screamed false advertising for a console being hyped for its ssd technology.

buh buh teh load screen that lasted a milli second .  bottom line: ratchet cannot be done on current gen systems. every xbox game looked like a mix of 360/xbox one.

I'm not the biggest R&C fan. They're welldone and all but they seem to be a mix of Ok platforming and Ok Shooting. Just not great in either arena, but that's fucking gorgeous. From an artistic and technical standpoint.

and all of the areas load in super fast. yeah, there are a few freezes, but i'm sure it will get smoothed out by the time it releases.
