lmao sorry, but port begging isn't going to distract from the buttfucking MS gave you today :tom:

Nothing is gonna distract from the fact that you couldn't even assemble a PC properly and blamed it on part manufacturers. :mj:

Nice deflection. So how bitter are you that you often spend thousands on PC parts but your most hyped game looks like it could run on a 560ti?

Probably less bitter than you are about spending thousands and not knowing how to put it all together :mickey:

The reality is this; 15 years ago PC was in a rough spot. Consoles were the dominant - or predominant, money makers of that era, and as a developer you needed capital to not only fund a game over 12-18+ months, but distribution as well.

PC was no doubt in a weird spot. We had physical copies of games that required us to go in-store to pick them up, but we could also just DL directly from Piratebay. It was akin to the music industry in the early aughts. You could buy an album, or; simply pick your program and DL it instead. They hadn't figured out digital distribution like we have now.

Along came STEAM - like iTunes; and allowed you to place everything into one login; every developer went there, and they were elated that they could sell a digital product, and retain nearly the same amount as they would have, had they gone through a publisher to take on distribution and physical production of the discs (once again, like the music industry)

Now fast forward to the present, and game developers need a serious sum of cash injected in order to produce a AAA title. Furthermore, the publishers cant wait (#BartScott) to sell a season pass, cosmetics, card packs, loot crates to the degenerates who they know will buy all the extras.

So now you have a situation where if you market your game on PC (even the following year) that was formerly a console exclusive - and unheard of a decade ago; you can expect another surge of cashflow, and can limit/control the piracy in ways which were never even considered before.

The fact is console games are going to be released in ever greater quantity on PC now, as their budget/greed (developer/publisher, respectively) essentially requires it.

Here's the thing, you can discount/hate/detest Jim Sterling, but the points he brings about the ridiculous hours that developers have to work, the targeted gambling to their whales, and the status symbol for teens on which edition of NBA 2K they own are extremely valid points that are made.

This impacts the gaming the industry and us fans, and it's why Death Stranding is the first game I've bought at launch (or full price) since 2016.
