Honestly this presidency, should have been chock full of memes and Trump with Goya beans on the Resolute desk; not controlling the numbers, obfuscating the death & cases, and a political argument on how long you should support people who have lost their jobs. It depends on the state and school districts really. Here in Washington they don't start until early-mid September. When I was in school in New Mexico, we'd start mid-August. The ramifications of not having school are considerably more damaging.. There's been 233 deaths in total in the United States in the age range of 0-24 years old, 233 deaths in 6 months... Undoubtedly every single one of those deaths has been the result of some underlying and already serious preexisting health condition. Our provincial health officer has done a great job. We only have 195 deaths total and 3700 cases. She keeps saying the virus does not spread easily from children to children and from children to adults. What about crime while everyone else is at work and kids are unattended free to do whatever they want?
