Sounds like Capcom's engine isn't quite friendly with PS5 at the moment or something  

 

I guess that also explains the scenes in the RE8 trailer that are chugging like garbage

It's just odd that they obviously have a marketing deal with Sony, and yet that seems to be the only version having issues at this point.

 

Of course the game will be more optimized by release... but he's also said other developers have told him similar things where the PS5 versions of games are struggling in performance.

he didnt say ps5 versions are struggling in performance. he said xbox has the advantage and seemed to really stress anecdotally so who knows how many he's talked to - could be as few as like 3 devs. in any case no ones really surprised if xbox has stronger hardware.

 

also he initially said "re8 is the game im talking about" indicating that was primarily the source he was making claims from. he didnt bring up "other dev friends" until after it was pointed out he may have been jumping the gun with all his re8 talk. not a good look tbh.

the one whose post i posted a screenshot of in this thread? that said it can be normal in multiplatform development for shit to be broken af - not booting past the title screen, running at 5fps, etc. thats why the dedicated thread for re8 was locked - literal FUD.

 

and yeah the fr in the trailer is bad - no one's saying it isnt. just like no one is saying dusks info is wrong, where he goofed was his extrapolation that it would be indicative of the final product and the entire gen of multiplats. he's jumping the gun.

It's not normal that the version which has been shown first... is the version which is apparently struggling the most.  It's also not normal that other versions are so far ahead of another... definitely not normal considering PS5 is where they'll be making the most of their money... and considering what we've heard about their dev tools being superior to others.

It's not normal when said console is the "lead" console... and when you have a marketing deal with said platform.  And OTHER devs have stated similar things for the PS5 versions of their games.

 

Yea, I'm really sure the PS5 version of the game is getting less attention than the Series X version...
