Cooke literally posted in a thread about universal healthcare, in which he was criticizing his Canadien healthcare and he gave an example of his grandma foot surgery in which they had to go to a specialist and therefore had to pay out of pocket. And Cooke ultimately said "I wish Canadian healthcare was more like US healthcare"..........straight-up. No other conditions. I obviously reacted by calling him a complete idiot, and he would double-down, and use his grandma's very unique and niche example of proving that the Canadien system doesn't work. A few months later............I bump the same thread with something......and Cooke posts in that thread, and says that "duh, of course universal healthcare is better than what is happening in the US" I remind him of his previous position...........and he plays stupid and pretends he never said it. No I do not want a US system, that doesnt make ours perfect either. Ours gets bogged down because it is so top heavy at the administration level and a lack of family doctors. What I want is a 2 tier system where people that can pay for operations can do so which will reduce wait times in the public system, while still paying taxes to support the public system.
