Twinblade★ 3,893
The 3070 is the one I want but im annoyed that it’s not coming out until October. I guess from a business perspective it makes sense, they’re hoping people will cave and spend the extra $200 on the 3080 instead.

jehurey 3,228
Zotac has been Walmart Gay for the longest time. So, is eVGA still the best all-around aftermarket video card manufacturer for nVIdia GPUs?

The Mother Fucker 26
There's some Tomfoolery going on here with these graphs. This is not 3X performance of 2080. and I wonder if DLSS was left OFF on the 2080 and turned ON for the 3080. Can't wait to when tech reviews come in and get to comparing. jehurey 3,228
Phew, just saw the total specs page, they all come with HDMI 2.1 ports, thank god. And, that whole 12-pin fiasco, that's not on the founder's edition, at least. They're using either one or two 8-pin connectors.
jehurey 3,228
other websites are reporting that the founder's edition will come with 12-pin power connectors, but that they will be supplying two 8-pin to one 12-pin adapters.
Sergio Perez SP11 173
How accurate is this ? that’s a shit ton of shaders Edited September 1, 2020 by Carlos Vela
jehurey 3,228
Haven't watched this yet: Apparently he's not showing framerates, and some people are saying that he's running this in PCIe 3.0?
The Mother Fucker 26
yeah a lot of the graphs say tested on i9 CPU so that would be PCIe 3.0 .

These video cards have more tensor cores, but the way he explained it was that either the algorithm or the tensor core architecture was significantly improved that it could perform much better than even DLSS 2.0, in fact he said 4x better performance. THey didn't confirm any such thing in this presentation, I believe. Eh those youtube guys didn't predict anything. We all knew this was coming. We knew directstorage was a thing and that the GPU would have direct access from storage to VRAM. Just really didn't know what they would call it. 14GB/s though.. that's fast. Look at the official specs Jehurey posted. More powerful than I even imagined. It has more shader cores per SM.

Twinblade★ 3,893
And so much for the cards being power hogs @Remij Guess I had better judgment for not wasting a bunch of unnecessary money on a 1000w+ PSU when the 750w I got will still be more than enough
jehurey 3,228
Here's eVGA's design. People don't like the red accents. I think this looks okay. though I prefer eVGA back during their steel dark gray and green accent design.

jehurey 3,228
Apparently, there's an ASUS version of the 3080 that will come with two HDMI 2.1 ports. And some of those aftermarket cards look like they have SLI on there. The plain fact of the matter is that, since they're on Samsung's 8nm, eventually they're going to get these cards on TSMC 7nm or even 5nm within the next 1-2 years. And those refreshes might be quite considerable. So, it'd be great if I can get a video card that can hold about 80% of its value 18 months from now. That way I don't spending the money now, and then turning around selling the card and getting a better one a couple of years from now, or possibly getting two of them in SLI configuration.
