They immediately talking about Game Pass, as well. Looks like a half of the games on GamePass will just be old Bethesda and id games staying on there forever. Starfield is still using the Gamebryo engine, and last we heard, they didn't know how exactly to do space travel with the game engine. And Elder Scroll 6 is "years away" after Starfield. jehurey 3,230 Posted September 21, 2020 Share Posted September 21, 2020 (edited) They paid $7.5 Billion for Zenimax I mean they paid $2.5 billion for Mahjong as well, but they were paying that money right as Minecraft was peaking, and it sold 200 million copies across many platforms. So, Zenimax could spend the next 10-15 years trying to sell enough games to get to $7.5 billion dollars in revenue (assuming Elder Scrolls and Fallout and Doom maintain their popularity) or they could sell for that generous amount. How is Microsoft going to re-coup $7.5 Billion? Compare that with the multi-billion dollar Mahjong acquisition again.......and well, they seemingly wanted that IP to became as multi-platform as possible.
