Voidler 1,675 Posted November 13, 2020 Share Posted November 13, 2020 (edited) - Both are quite good at keeping 60FPS (in the area he tested) - PS5 is vsynced, XSX is not - Dynamic res on both with ~1440p as the lowest limit on XSX, 1620P lowest on PS5 - PS5 loads 12% faster Xbox also has worse textures: Summary: Worse version of multiplats coming to a Series X near you. Worse textures, worse loading, constant tearing, lower dynamic resolution. Cannot even manage the best version of a paid marketing game Add that on to worse last gen controller, no exclusives and last gen UI. Please pay $100 more than PS5. DynamiteCop 2,085 Posted November 13, 2020 Share Posted November 13, 2020 Series X has a VERY slight FPS advantage PS5 is vsynced and drops frames, Series X has adaptive vsync and tears instead (both are rare) Both seem to scale the identical resolution margins he merely captured the X hitting the lower bounds and not the PS5, although it no doubt does he merely didn't capture it. He doesn't go into averages, he doesn't discuss anything about the visuals beyond that they're identical PS5 loads 5%-12% faster Textures are identical All in all it's a quite the wash. Also it's not $100 more, it's the same price. The PlayStation 5 is $500, the DE is a paper launch to push the appeal of better value when reality is there's nearly no stock and never was, it was a perception move. 95/100 PS5's are the $500 actual console. Far more clarity on distant objects on PS5, you can barely even make out the detail on the wood and pillars on Series X It is $100 more. You can buy a $399 PS5, Series X starts at $499.
