In every single instance you're looking at a last gen game.... games which ran better on the base PS hardware than the Xbox hardware.

You can stop acting like last gen games.. which are not taking advantage of the hardware.. are any kind of barometer.

It's far too early to say anything yet.. though I do completely understand cows rubbing this in lemmings faces at the moment.

That makes zero sense whatsoever

You do realise PS5 is more bespoke in its architecture than Series X, right? And that Sony have laid the groundwork for future development pipelines utilising SSD and their Geometry Engine - as shown in UE5

Xbox SHOULD apparently be winning these scenarios where games are just straight forward existing ways to leverage hardware based on what lemmings and MS have been saying about the raw compute advantage. But its not because PS5 is the more efficient piece or hardware that is producing superior real world results

And the gap will get wider when we move into new development pipelines that leverage PS5s vision of the technology

Yes it does make sense.  Series X has a ton of new features which aren't being utilized yet... of course, just like PS5 has.. but Series X is the stronger machine.  Sony's tools are simply farther ahead.  MS... in their infinite wisdom, decided now was the time to change their dev kit from XDK to GDK using Game Core.  Thus many developers essentially had to start from scratch to get things up and running.

MS took a chance and waited longer for AMD's latest hardware, and thus tools and pipelines are behind.

Sony on the other hand have built off of what they had with PS4, and thus it was immediately familiar to developers and they were able to get going faster.  That's literally it.  That's literally what explains what is happening currently with multiplat games.  It lines up perfectly with the fact that devs were saying PS5's kits were further along.. and that Sony was readying PS5 for an earlier release but held off.  It explains why their kits are ahead and why developers are more familiar and happier with the PS5 at the moment.

I think you're grossly underestimating some of the hardware and features in the Series consoles.  Literally none of it is being taken advantage of just yet.

Series S version running at 30fps is such a deal breaker.  Series S sounds more like an extension of the previous gen rather than a new gen machine. It's going to be a tough sell when you can get the PS5 DE at just $100 more.

Wrong

Multiple devs have confirmed that the tools argument is bullshit, and that GDK is far more mature than any previous SDK from prior generations

I mean, they just straight up lied.

Remember, people were pointing out that PS5 marketing would say 4K AND 60 fps, and Xbox marketing would say 4K AT 60fps.

Just a straight-up lie.

Look at that picture, they even enlarged the font size, like little children.
