Microsoft tried to buy Nintendo in 2000, Nintendo laughed at them

:D

Steve made us go meet with Nintendo to see if they would consider being acquired. They just laughed their asses off. Like, imagine an hour of somebody just laughing at you. That was kind of how that meeting went.
MCBREEN We actually had Nintendo in our building in January 2000 to work through the details of a joint venture where we gave them all the technical specs of the Xbox. The pitch was their hardware stunk, and compared to Sony PlayStation, it did. So the idea was, 'Listen, you’re much better at the game portions of it with Mario and all that stuff. Why don’t you let us take care of the hardware?' But it didn’t work out."

so basically, this entire forum has been one long meeting between Nintendo and Microsoft that's been ongoing for almost 20 years.:drake:

Story has it, old man Yamauchi got on top of his chair, and put his hands to his crotch, and told Microsoft to SUCK HIS BALLS.

The twist, which I didn't see coming.........was that Microsoft proceeded to do just that and suck balls.

'Nothing to with MS" :lemming:

You could go all the way back to Blue Dragon sequel to find Microsoft developed games for Nintendo platforms over their own.

Some even bigger gems for Nintendo were less obvious, like the The Last Story which Mistwalker developed, which Microsoft owned.
