I'm sure its terrible, but you guys are well ahead of Canada. Washington State example has vaccinated 4x as many people as British Columbia.  :(

We have a competent government here with a good governor. It's still been slow though, but we should be having some mass vaccination clinics set up soon.

Jay Inslee a good governor lol...

Being 48/50 in deaths per capita not good enough for you despite being the first state to have a recorded COVID case/death?

I'm sure Culp would've handled things so much better. :danylol:

Our federal government decided to put all its eggs in one basket. The Pfizer plant in Europe. Which shut down production this week. We aren't getting any new vaccine shipments right now. It's also the hardest vaccine to transport and store. Not sure what they are thinking

Moderna has been sending vaccines to Canada and will continue to send vaccines during the 4 weeks of lowered vaccine shipments from Pfizer. Those are the only two vaccines approved in Canada, the US, or the EU, so it's not like Canada is just ignoring other vaccines. Canada has deals with 5 other manufacturers, their vaccines just haven't completed trials and/or the approval process.

Pfizer is temporarily closing one of their plants to improve production. They said the closing will lead to 2 billion Pfizer vaccine doses in 2021 over 1.3 billion, so a pretty substantial boost. Delaying vaccine production during the worst part of the pandemic maybe doesn't quite justify it, but that's not Canada's decision.

Suggesting Canada is putting all its eggs in one basket is ridiculous.

They purchased way more of the Pfizer vaccine. 72 million doses.

And they could have bought more Moderna but chose not to

No, they initially purchased 20 million of the Pfizer vaccine, exercised an option for an additional 20 million, and have yet exercise an option(s) to purchase 36 million more. Canada has purchased 40 million of the Moderna vaccine and declined an option for 16 million more. Canada also has options for 358 million more doses from 5 other vaccines.

Canada is getting 40 million doses from Moderna. They turned down an option on the additional 16 million because they'd have every Canadian vaccinated before they'd need it. The 20 million doses option from Moderna that Canada picked up accelerated Moderna deliveries to Canada, while the 16 million option did not.

Actually, let me help provide some context first............and the demonstrate to you where exact the "funny" is.

Canada.............the country..............like, as in the whole country............had 5,701 new cases of infected yesterday on January 20th.

I live in Dallas County in Texas. Its one county.

One county out of the 254 that exist in one state out of the 50 United States..........had  3,469 new infected cases.

And you're here telling us that your REALLY CONCERNED about what Canada is doing? And that its not funny?

Naw...........its pretty funny, especially your attempt at concern trolling.

This is like you saying your country only has 10 firetrucks, and you way behind America which has 5,000 firetrucks.

Except you only have one city block on fire, whereas we have 20 entire cities on fire.

not to mention that Canada couldn't secure any more vaccines from Phizer or Moderna if they could, because the US took the majority of them.

Jehurey, you might want to check the testing rates of our countries.

https://covidtracking.com/data/state/texas

Texas is testing more people daily than all of canada by massive margin.

https://www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/article-covid-19-testing-rates-in-some-provinces-dropped-in-late-december/

We cant secure more vaccines because we np long make any vaccines because of shortsighted governments, conservative and liberal.

Sorry, that isn't going to work.

Your theory is that Canada simply isn't testing and therefore VASTLY UNDERCOUNTING infections.

Ok............prove it.

Show your out-of-control hospitalization rates going on in your major cities.

I'll wait.
