They backed off from XBL Gold's price hike because it would look even worse for them making TWO price hikes within close proximity. But they're already sending the message that they are seeking an additional $5 a month from you. Its going to come from somewhere. They will release their own version of a "Chromecast" device that connects to TVs, or maybe even a SmartTV app that connects you to xCloud and sell the controller.
