Some Bethesda Games Will Be Xbox/PC Exclusives Under Microsoft

Recommended Posts

I can see their big franchises being timed exclusives. Keep them Xbox/PC to maximize sales on those platforms, then after some time port them to PS5. Its worth keeping in mind that MS would obviously be profiting from sales of those games on Sony platforms, so it wouldn't make sense to keep them exclusive long term.

If they had their big name franchises as exclusives, in any manner.....Phil Spencer would've screamed that out loud on day one.

he didn't.

Instead he said "uhhhhhh........SOME games"

I am excited for future Elder Scrolls Online expansion packs being Xbox platform exclusive.

"Some"..... lemmings expected "all" :drake:

MS most successful acquisition has been minecraft, a series that the have kept multiplatform.

Lmfao at lemmings thinking MS bought up a developer AND PUBLISHER with Bethesda and their parent company to not publish 3rd party games.

Looks like it's going to be game by game decision. Should've been all.

Now we see if by some they mean the big ones or the irrelevant ones.

I would not be surprised if some of the bigger ones have 3-6 month exclusivity.

By some I assume MS will pass off some of their sad exclusive IPs in hopes they can resurrect them.

I think they'll do the opposite unfortunately. The big titles like Starfield and TES will be multiplat but best on XSX. Basically be like, get it free on GP or pay $70 elsewhere.

Meanwhile some smaller titles will be exclusive. Say future Arkane games or Wolfenstein.

yea, but there was never a doubt that the new elder scrolls will be multiplat. that would be a big move to make it xbox exclusive.

MS has officially went third party :tom5:

They were never going to spend 7.5 billion dollars buying a publisher and keep the games exclusives. Only idiots thought that.

Bethesda isn't even part of XBox game studios, it's likely it will partner with other devs to publish games even under MS.

Anyone with two working brain cells knew this would be a repeat of Minecraft, their main goal was to boost game pass.

They can't possibly value the acquisition at $7.5 Billion, and Zenimax couldn't possibly demand a purchase price that high, unless the understanding was that the most popular IPs that they own would generate sufficient money by being multiplatform games.

Lemmings truly, truly thought that systemwars OWNAGE over Sony and Nintendo was worth billions for Microsoft to spend money on.

Oh and in completely unrelated news, Disney+ has now reached 100 million paid subscribers. They actually appear to be speeding up their rate of growth.

There are still multiplat deals with sony and games in development before the deal. They obviously cannot say all as in that wouldnt be true. Im not sure what people think they will say. Well besides the 2 games sony has a contract with and these games that were already done, everything else will be exclusive.

There is nothing stopping them from saying "Elder Scrolls 6 will be exclusive" "the next Doom will be exclusive" "the next Fallout will be exclusive"

Nothing.

Not a single thing.

Phil Spencer could have announced that from the very first official day of the completed acquisition.

If it was going to happen, that would've been it. Because that would've stopped people from buying a PS5 and use to buy the Xbox right now when it matters most. It didn't happen.
