Angelfish 93 Posted April 26, 2021 Share Posted April 26, 2021 I could be wrong but it definitely feels like the Oscars don't really give a look in to the majority of the highest grossing films of the year so it doesn't surprise me that it isn't expanding its viewership. With some exceptions, I'm not even sure if Costume dramas (which I guess are the stereotype of what cleans up at the Oscars) generally speaking are considered mainstream these days or have ever been really.
