This is the video game industry, people don't copy unless its proven to be more successful than what you're currently doing.   They're in no rush to follow MS down that road.

The console market saw tremendous growth across the board.  What bubble are you living in? 

 

They will continue with this model until it not profitable anymore, it's currently seeing record breaking profits. 

 

Subscription model will play a role in the future, but you guys are overselling how soon that is and how much of a role it will play. 

 

For all the success Netflix has had Movies were still making billions of dollers for each major block buster title (pre pandemic) and they would land on Netflix MONTHS or a year later. 

 

Sony and Nintendo games sell boatloads, there is no need to put them on Sub from day 1.  For all you know it could follow the movie industry were their games come to their subs months or a year later and not the day 1 like MS. 

 

But to think they will drop selling millions of copies cold turkey to do a sub models wholesale is retarded.

Hey retard, releasing the game Day 1 on a sub model will reduce the total sales at retail.  That's why Nintendo and Sony isn't jumping in to the day 1 sub model because their games sell boatloads already.

Hey retard, they aren't going to lose 70% of their retail sales all at once because their games are offered on a subscription service day 1....  Maybe... jusssst maybe....the amount of new subs from people who otherwise wouldn't have bothered buying the game... would augment that and make them MORE money?  

 

10m sales x $70 = 700m

20m subs x $15 = $300M per month x 12months = 3.6B

 

The funny thing though... is if the amount of people that you are so concerned about Sony losing retail sales from, instead subscribed to their service to play their games day 1... Sony would be making WAYYYYYYYYYY more money than they ever could retail... LOL

 

They WILL have a sub model that copies MS' business model...
