Phil Spencer already negated this last year when asked directly.

Executive Vice President > Gaming Journalist

PR talk most likely. Or are you saying he's incapable of lying? lmao

It was PR talk, carefully worded too.  He never actually says it's profitable... he says they're comfortable running it the way it is... which is obvious... they're investing for the future... but to think they're already seeing ROI this early in a streaming service is beyond Naive.

"Game Pass for us right now is a good business. It’s something that we're comfortable running the way it is,"

Aaron Greenberg Said as much too.

https://wccftech.com/microsoft-admits-xbox-game-pass-isnt-really-making-a-lot-of-money-right-now/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

"With Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft is focusing on over-delivering on value, even if it comes at the cost of profits in the short term. It's a different mindset."

"In the short-term, yeah, Xbox Game Pass is not a big profit play. But we think long-term it works out good for everybody."

still laughing at the clowns that calculated the revenue from one game vs the entire service library + subs for one year as gamepass being more profitable than retail based on ONE GAME:lawl:

In the short term (which is now) , MS is in growth mode.  Meaning their goal is to to grow the gamepass userbase at the cost of profits.  Eat the losses in the short term in the hopes that in the long term you were able to build a huge userbase for the service which would then eventually turn a profit for you.

Lems kept trying to convince everyone that it was printing money and that Sony and Nintendo would be “left behind” if they didn’t  follow MS’ lead  :sabu:

They will, there's near infinite growth potential for something like Game Pass and people will View $60 to $70 games as an insane proposition.

Yeah that’s why TLOU2 and GOT sold so horribly on PS4 last year. :drake:
