It would essentially be if it was on PlayStation.

Outriders, MLB = $130. Gamepass annual sub = 120.

so yeah, assuming you’d play even one more game thru the year it would have paid itself off.

Since when did buying games become a bad thing? if anything it proves GP isn't the industry game changer you lems think it is.

If GP was so huge it would have impacted sales of those games on PSN but it didn't meaning PS gamers don't mind paying for their games like we've been doing for the last 40 something years of console gaming.

So...............developers are figuring out that they could make more money selling full-priced games on Playstation than they would on GamePass.

Obviously. If anyone does it it's because Microsoft paid good money or directly owns the company.

How would Gamepass impact sales of PS? Most people don’t own both. Cows don’t have a choice, lol.

Nah, this early in the gen it's mostly hardcore gamers buying games and hardcore tend to be multi-console owners.

If GamePass isn't disrupting Sony's business model which by the looks of things is approximately 70-80% of sales going by the Resident Evil sales thread then this isn't good news for MS.

The whole point of GP is to get people to stop spending $60-70 for games and instead adopt the subscription model which is clearly not happening for the  majority of gamers. This might be good news for lems as they get to save money but in the end it's bad news for the GP platform and Xbox in general as MS is seeing less revenue on their platform and it makes it a lot harder for MS to negotiate third party deals with this kind of sales split. Expect Sony to easily secure more big third party exclusives like FF7 & 16 going forward with these sort of figures.

The entire point of GP is to make people shift over to that ecosystem. If it was truly flourishing you would see big declines in PS software sales yet they are at record breaking levels. How are DVDs sales going since Netflix became a success? Meanwhile Nintendo (who don't even do price drops) and Sony are continually breaking sales records.

The only thing GP is impacting is sales on it's on console, the Xbox, just as predicted  RE8 with a 20% market share on XBox LMAO. Eating it's own market because they have accustomed their userbase to not pay for games. Exact same scenario as what happened in the mobile space, where now even $1 feels expensive cause it should be FTP.

Except it’s not one or the other. It’s… Cows have to pay, and Lemmings don’t. :D

except...............you DO have to pay.

Not only do you have to pay.

If you don't pay.............everything you HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR, month after month............gets taken away from you.

So, you effectively continue to pay................for something YOU WILL NEVER OWN.

Did you honestly think you would convince people that you aren't paying anything?

Do you know who predicted this very thing?

Satoru Iwata

At a keynote speech that he gave at GDC before he died. TEN YEARS AGO

Quote

Furthermore, Iwata argued makers of mobile and social platforms have no motivation to encourage high-value software, unlike companies that make systems dedicated to games.

“For them, content is something created by someone else. Their goal is to just gather as much software as possible, because … that is how they profit. The value of video game software does not matter to them. … The fact is, what we produce has value, and we should protect that value.”

"Their goal is to just gather as much software as possible, because … that is how they profit"

Now, who do you constantly see in the news doing what he is describing? Hmmmmmm.
