A lady called and ambulance and the dad begged her not to. We assumed because that would be like 1k at least. It was only a few minutes to a hospital by car and he said he would carry the boy. Someone else offered to call him and uber and he accepted. It's fucked so many idiots in this country don't think that's fucked up because of capitalism and ignorance of what socialism really is. Who should absolutely be going to a doctor and getting checkups and getting into PREVENTATIVE treatment. and they're not doing it, because they can't afford the doctors visit, or they have this mentality that "if they discover something, then its just more visits and costs." and those people end up allowing their condition to get worse, and end up becoming trips to the ER. Which cost much more money. And once you have a cardiac event, you are permanently damaged from it. Which means that, as a country, we lose worker productivity because they allowed their condition to get worse. And, because they can't pay ER bills, the hospital offsets the loss by raising the cost of ALL OTHER services. So the people who believe in privitized health care and are awfully proud that they currently make their health insurance premium every month...........THEIR INSURANCE cost is going up because of these ER visits. Has absolutely nothing to do with Socialism, and everything to do with "We look like the dumbest motherfuckers in the world" good ol' fashioned EFFICIENCY.
