And, since this is a big investment for the studio, they are clearly going to want to sell as many copies as possible, and will still be meant for the PS4/XBO, with maybe some cross-gen features.

Yea it's last gen.  As far as we know yet it could still be last gen only and utilize BC modes for the new consoles... but I kinda doubt that.  They're likely going to have proper versions for all the systems.
