Trump's Dept. of Justice subpeona'd Apple to obtain communication records of Democrats from the House Intelligence Committee, including Adam Schiff, and staff of Adam Schiff, including a minor.

This is going to blow up, really big. And you're basically giving Adam Schiff the right to investigate and refer criminal charges to the DoJ to prosecute.

Rachel Maddow is going though it right now, will be interviewing the people from NYT who just broke the story, and will be interviewing Adam Schiff, as well.

It started under Jeff Sessions, and they initially found no connections at all between Democrats on the House Intelligence Committee, and their aides, and their family members.........none. They had initially declared it a "dead end" and were wondering about whether to close the investigation.

 

But then William Barr resurrected the investigation, got somebody outside of the DoJ from New Jersey to came in and do the investigation, and they began subpoenaed Apple's communication records. With people pushing back within the DoJ about the investigation, and being seen as a "political targeting".

 

The DoJ even issued a gag order on Apple..........so that Apple could not NOTIFY the Democrats whom they were having their communications seized. That gag order expired this year, and only then did Apple begin notifying them.

 

And just to reiterate..........nobody found any wrongdoing or any evidence that the Democrats or their aides, or their family members were communicating with anybody in the White House who could potentially issue leaks. They broke laws in investigating Democrats........and they found nothing.

Nothing is going to come of it.  The U.S. is literally the most corrupt developed country in the world.  Look at all the bullshit Republicans have gotten away with since the 80s.
