The ground is extremely barren and looks way low res. I’m blown away by how bad it looks tbh.

and why are there skyscrapers going straight into sand? Lol wtf. Even if that exists, it’s an ugly sight

The theme of the game is that the weather has become fucked up and unpredictable. The sand built up around the skyscrapers is likely because of the sandstorms (like the one that comes in later in the match).

do not lie to me and say this looks good. At least say it’s in pre alpha and that the reason it looks bad

They don't look great but most of the terrain is deformable (vehicles leave tracks and explosions leave craters). And im sure since this is pre-alpha things will improve.

In a perfect world they would have dropped last gen consoles but the game is still pulling off a lot all things considered.

Not trolling at all, most of that trailer looked worse than bfv.

And if that’s the case (I doubt the shipped product will look the same as the trailer) it’s somewhat understandable given the player count and destruction I suppose. I don’t really give a fuck about graphics tbh. But it’s just odd it looks worse in some ways than bfv imo.

There was a livestream today with some more info. The way they're handling classes and gadgets have me a bit worried. Instead of being relegated to the support or medic role, any character can equip healing or ammo packs for example.

However, the biggest issue is that now any class can equip a anti vehicle weapon like RPGs and C4. Before you had to rely on your team's engineers to effectively take out vehicles, but now it seems everybody is going to have the power to take them out. Its too early to say for sure, but combined with the fact that any of the specialists can also equip any weapon, there might potentially be some major balance issues as a result of all these design choices.

Like imagine the recon specialist who uses the drone, being able to pick off players medium - long range with a sniper rifle AND having a rocket launcher at the same time. So you have a player who can not only spot vehicles and enemies with the drone, but he also has the ability to take out infantry from far away and also take on vehicles whenever they feel like it. This type of loadout on paper seems like it would be pretty OP.

this is the first time where I feel like I already played this one. This doesn't need a gameplay analysis, it's just battlefield again. :D

Nah they've made some pretty big changes that will definitely affect the core gameplay, hard to say if its for the better or the worse though.

No man, I don't mean it in a bad way but the trailers and gameplay reminded me of the caspian border bf3 trailer and it rarely ever played out like that in a real match.

  • 4 weeks later...

so BF1 is free on Amazon prime. They've been giving the older games away for free for a bit now and the new teasers show off snippets of old maps that date all the way back to BC2:

So its obvious that the 'redacted' mode they've been teasing is basically a collection of remastered maps from older games. Interested in seeing this stuff tomorrow, but I admit I was hoping for something more unique than 'heres a bunch of old maps for you'
