This gun violence statistic is scary

Quote

During the first five months of 2021, gunfire killed more than 8,100 people in the country, which is about 54 deaths a day. The average of the same period of time during the past six years was 14 deaths per day, according to an analysis by the Washington Post and the Gun Violence Archive.

So who is still in favor of defunding the police? They need MORE resources so they can get illegal guns off the streets and lock up gang members.

But then the justice system poses another major problem. All these liberal judges and prosecutors keep letting violent criminals back on the streets with a slap on the wrist. Look at the rap sheet of the guy who almost shot 2 kids in NYC the other day

Quote

The man was on parole until 2023 on a 2014 attempted murder charge. He also had several open cases against him from 2020, including a knifepoint robbery in the transit system.

“How does an individual, released to parole, get arrested for knifepoint robbery and is walking around on the streets?” NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea said. “And is that justice for those little kids? So I would ask, where are the laws for those kids? Because somehow they’ve been forgotten in this.”

Luckily your president signed a bill that included funds the police to the tune of 350  Billion Dollars.... a bill funded the police that zero Republicans voted for.

Thanks President Biden for funding the police :salute:

No it isn't. Thats money that can optionally be used for police departments but you know damn well democratic states and their terrible leaders aren't going to actually spend it on their police departments. As we speak more and more cities experiencing an increase in violent crime are choosing to defund the police instead.

Republicans rightfully voted against more free handouts for bullshit that won't actually contribute to lowering violent crime.

After the Bill passed, republicans tried to take credit for it because the public loved the bill and the relief it brought to businesses, families and state governments.

Yes, those same Republicans that voted no for it tried to take credit for it 😂🤣😂🤣

What's even more ironic is not one state rejected the money.   The Republican run states who's representatives called it "free handouts" accepted every single penny.

Unlike Trump who played politics with the relief money, by withholding money from "blue states" because they have a democratic governor.....  which is pathetic and un-American....Biden funded every single state no matter if it's run by a republican or a Democrat.

As I said earlier, not one state turned the money down.... so the money also went to states that will use that 350 billion to fund the police.   Again, something that Trump couldn't get accomplished in 4 entire years... Biden did in 3 months.

Thanks President Biden :salute:

"Joe Biden Declares Definitively, "I Do Not Support Defunding Police"

Presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden definitively declared “I do not support defunding police,” in an op-ed Wednesday,

Even as a candidate Biden supported funding the Police.  Another republican lie debunked :trump2:

Lol wishful thinking :D The only states that could be using the money for their police forces are republican states, but even then they don't need it because their police departments are already properly funded (part of the reason why violence isn't out of control in republican cities like it is in most democrat run cities).

Not defunding =/= funding, you do know that right? In fact Biden has been clear that he wants to 'reform' the police, as an attempt to appeal to both republicans and democrats. But realistically 'reform' for him and many other democrats likely just means gimping police forces with rules and regulations to keep them from properly doing their jobs.

Yea like NYC.... remember when you claimed NYC Defund the police and it turned out that their police budget was basically the same as previous years to the tune of 10 billion dollars 😂🤣

Lmfao at the bolded part... the police reform boogie man is so scary that you have to make up shit about what it "probably" is 😂🤣

... and yet Biden passed a bill within a few months of taking office that allows states to fund the police to the tune of 350 Billion Dollars for new equipment, technology upgrades, larger police force etc:salute:

and let's not forget that Trump Defunded the police by over half a billion dollars one year and by 50% another year.

In his 2019 budget plan, the Trump administration proposes a nearly 50 percent cut to the COPS Hiring Program, which helps hire local police officers.

The program was started in 1994 by the Clinton administration and Congress. It was originally planned to be a six-year program that would hire or redeploy 100,000 more police officers, but the policy proved so popular that it’s been extended every year since then.

But the Trump administration argues that the program was not having a significant effect: “These resources are spread thin and are not well targeted to achieve public safety outcomes."

Thank you President Biden for Funding the police within a few months of becoming President :salute:  ......... While the previous president did everything he could to Defund the police behind the scenes.
