FPS games are about to die? (new way to cheat without being detected)

Recommended Posts

even with the detectable ones it seems like devs are already struggling hard to keep up.

counter strike has been fucked for some time

cod while i don't play, seems to have absolutely rampant issues

valorant is the best from what I can tell.

A LOT of stuff is going to get fucked with the advent of machine learning and AI...

The writing was on the wall years ago when Nvidia demonstrated self driving fully automated cars, and AI that could take an input picture with 60% of the information missing and make the complete picture.

The applications are amazing.. and terrifying.

I think as far as games and cheating goes, like that video alluded to, there will be ML based anti-cheat which should be able to detect any kinds of super human abilities.  I wouldn't be too worried about that.  Also, they will be as easily integrated in the future as anti-cheat is today.

Yeah I was gonna mention Valorant. I know a lot people complained about the their anti-cheat software constantly running in the OS' background even when you're not playing the game. But if thats what it takes to eliminate cheating, then so be it.

what's the last single player FPS that was decent?

The genre is dead already. Online only POS's have no value to me nowadays.

COD will be skipped this year. It's going to be another full priced $70 DLC pack for Warzone again.

Doom Eternal was the last time I had a blast playing an FPS campaign.
