Don't be delusional. Literally nobody liked the CoD beta.

I played it... and I liked it a lot more than I like this BF beta.

I'm honestly not trying to fuck with you either.  It's a simple fact of COD being a well tuned and well performing game... and BF being a janky bugfest.

When i played the COD beta i was left unimpressed. I havent played the past 2 or 3 games and i was burned on the MP. So to find out it was the same shit as the last one i played i was like ....im good. The graphics were not good either.

BF i booted up, and when i dropped in im like this is cool....this looks like a real war. But then what, the same shit as every other BF game. BORING

Least Halo is seemingly going back to the roots and improving on everything. Its taking what was good and improving on it.

BF and COD are just a continuation of whats already been done. No soul in those games. You can tell 343 is much more passionate about making Halo MP something special, when Dice and Acti are just pushing shit out to get the holiday money.

One thing I haven't heard yet is; is the map really big? Like the previous biggest one was still Bandar Desert from BF3

people hyping halo because BF is the same again are stupid, just let it go. games are hardly even comparable and best mp fps comparison is dumb as well. they both suck. The only thing I'd want to play is air combat, jets and helis

I heard people saying it felt more like BF3 than anything which is a good thing to me. The movements looks so dumb, constant crouch-jumps while running at full speed. They never go back to tactical realistic pacing. this shit needs a stamina bar :(

The map is good imo. The people complaining about how its too big don't understand how the game's systems work. There are near constant firefights happening in and around every control point.

Im also still discovering new ways to optimize my traversal every time I play it. Controlling the sky scraper in the middle is key because then you can actually parachute off of it onto the bases below to get an advantage on taking them over. Then theres large towers around the rocket with zip lines that you can make use of, so theres a lot of cool verticality stuff like that. The runway from the skyscraper to the rocket is huge, and traversing it on foot is basically a death trap in many cases. There is an underground tunnel that connects you from one sector to the next and thats essential to use.

The only issues I have with it is that while the storm is really cool (especially if it includes the tornado) the visibility really goes down the drain, and enemies in the jungle area become practically invisible especially if you're in an air vehicle. Theres also only 2 tanks per side, which is puzzling. Tank battles are one of my favorite things in BF and this map definitely does not offer that due to there only being 4 tanks for 128 players.

I played a match on PS5. It actually looked really good and seemed to run smooth most of the time. I can see why console players were complaining though, with crossplay on you are pretty much destined to get destroyed by PC players especially at longer range firefights. Doesn't help that theres no (or very limited) aim assist.

The haptic feedback seems pretty cool too, especially how it feels when you fire your gun.

:D This is too funny. Anyway im starting to slowly warm up to the specialist system. Im getting revived, healed, and resupplied far more often than I was at the beginning of the beta. I think people are more comfortable with the gameplay mechanics and are starting to pick the teamplay oriented tools more often instead of just constantly rolling with one of the launchers.

This game is generations above cod. The problem is - cod is serval generations behind.

Its also several generations above Halo :mjpls: I know Halo is more polished and it has what fans of that series wanted, but the multiplayer is literally just the same as before except they threw in a grappling hook this time. Theres just no sense of ambition or scale. I want to see a Halo multiplayer component that tries to emulate the big sandbox battles you often see in the campaigns. 48-64 players per side minimum with multiple land/air vehicles and infantry all battling out at the same time. That would make for such a cool experience, and if people aren't into that then they can just include some of the smaller modes and maps that people are used to.

No it's fucking NOT:lawl:

Twinky... Battlefield sucks.  It's a damn mess.  Just retarded shit happening all around to "try to mimick intensity of a war" and yet it fails hard.

Guns with no recoil... running and running and running and running... dumb "scripted" sequences like a rocket exploding or launching... :woo:  tornadoes and storms... lmfao there's nothing next gen about that shit.  It's just annoying shit to try to distract you from the fact that every other aspect of the game sucks shit.  Even Battlefield 3 did destruction better.  It's got more bugs than your basement, graphical glitches everywhere, and shitty performance.  Probably the worst map I've ever seen in a Battlefield game too... just completely uninteresting.

"bubu it's jus that ppl dun know how to play it "   Get out of here for real :Jeff:

I can easily break down and refute most of your points

1) Guns with no recoil - Someone on reddit made a comparison video between weapon handling in this and BF4, and despite all the complaining the same type of guns actually have more recoil than they did in BF4. The beta map has incredibly long sight lines and if you try to kill someone at long range with a AR you are going to have a VERY hard time, regardless of whether you're using a controller of KBM. The SMGs also have a ton of kick to them

2) Constant Running - Like I mentioned previously you simply did not put the time or effort into learning the tools and systems the game has to minimize the downtime in Conquest. I also mentioned that the beta only has that one mode, the Breakthrough mode in the full game will funnel all 128 players into a tug of war meatgrinder with constant action which might be what you and the rest of the CoD/Halo crowd might prefer.

3) The rocket is not entirely scripted. The launch sequence is on a timer that may or may not be triggered each match and at different points. And the destruction event is based on how much you damage it. If your team is struggling to take that capture point, you can use some of the vehicles like the apache to damage the rocket to trigger to the explosion and clear out all enemies in that area. Its a viable strategy, and another part of the game's depth that went right over your head.

4) The storm does have gameplay implications. If one team is dominating the air space with choppers and jets when the storm comes in, then they're gonna have far less capabilities and that could end up allowing the other team to make a comeback due to the lack of visibility for those pilots. Admittedly the tornado is more of a spectacle than anything else, but the physics associated with it definitely feel next gen to a degree and it does affect which capture points you decide to focus on as well as being a distraction to the team who finds themselves near it.

5) Destruction - Ill give you this one, but we've only seen this 1 map. The other ones could be designed with more destructibility in mind. That said the terrain deformation is very impressive, as the match goes on you see more and more craters and shit littering the ground of the bases which is a cool sight and they make for good hiding spaces. There's also a lot of interactive elements with different effects. For example explosions impacting the hangars/warehouses will trigger their fire suppression systems resulting in a bunch of cryo smoke being released that can actually freeze you to death if you stay in it too long.

6) Bugs & Performance - Ill also give you this one but it is a beta confirmed to be at least 2-3 months old. Tom Henderson himself speculated that DICE will have had around 100 days to polish the full game since this build was created, so a lot of stuff will be fixed and optimized.

7) Thats personal preference but I do like the map. I think there's a lot of verticality and nooks and crannies to discover. I do expect the full game to have more interesting maps. The one in the gameplay reveal trailer looks like it might be more my cup of tea.

I do have issues with the game, specifically the specialist/loadouts like i've mentioned before but I think most of it is on the right track. I wish they'd be able to make a BF game as polished as Halo, but i've accepted that theres simply too much shit going on for that be possible without throwing millions of more dollars at it and extending the development cycle which are obviously not feasible for a company like EA.

Hardly surprising. Halo is a very casual and easy to get into game compared to BF. You can just jump in and shoot people without having to learn any complicated systems or mechanics. It definitely sounds like its a very polished game though, so it does have a upper hand in that regard.
