Monster Hunter Rise, winner of the Grand Award, is a Monster Hunter title released in March 2021 for Nintendo Switch. The game was developed to provide a new, accessible Monster Hunter experience that can be enjoyed anytime, anywhere and with anyone. In addition to new monsters and locales, the game provides a completely fresh take on the hunting experience through a host of new, exhilarating hunting actions made possible with the Wirebug as well as with the debut of new "canyne" hunting partners called Palamutes, all of which garnered acclaim from players, resulting in shipments of more than 7.5 million units*1 worldwide.

For comparison, Monster Hunter World, released across three platforms back in early 2018, has reached 17 million sales as of May 2021. It took three entire years, across three platforms for them to reach that number.

Monster Hunter Rise should probably reach over half of that number before the end of the year.

That's pretty good. Not quite as good as the 8 million copies World did in 2.5 months, but for a side entry in the series that's pretty impressive. Kind of amazing the doors that World has opened for the series.

Impressive but hardly surprising. Perfect game for the Japanese market and the MH series is more popular than ever worldwide. Sales on PC should be pretty good too. This series is just an insane cash cow for Capcom now.

And then link to this press release, where they specify end of June, 8.3 million in sales.

How does goukosan pull sales numbers out of nowhere in every thread? Dude has gone some rainman shit going on remembering all these.

How many copies did Viewtiful Joe sell on the Gamecube between March 2004 - September 2004? :wonder:

you should already know.

your information doesn't appear to be accurate.

this is more up to date.

or, its rather surprising that if the game sells very hot for 2.5 months, it goes ridiculously cold and only sells 300k copies during the next three months.

What is surprising about video game sales being front loaded? Are you just unaware that MHR had shipped 7 of the 7.5-million units that this thread is about in its first two months and has shipped 500k over the last 4?

It doesn't make the initial numbers seem very credible if they shipped so few throughout the entire next quarter.

It makes it seem like as if the June 30th numbers are simply more accurate.

And so are the June 30th numbers.

Its rather clear that the initial numbers are just overstuffed shipment numbers, while the following quarter shows a more accurate picture of how it really sold.

Wouldn't you say?

Did you say that about hotsauce?  He posted the 8 million figure :wonder:

I simply Googled  8 million and it came up that it was as of June 30th

No, I wouldn't say that at all because video game sales are heavily front loaded. I even gave you the MHR numbers that show the exact same thing.

That's a simple question... yes or no answer will suffice.

LMAO Gouki... what you're saying is that I can't respond, or ask a question of him :drake:

Both the rise numbers Jehurey posted and what you referenced for world by April are both shipped numbers.

The June 30th numbers I posted are sold to consumer numbers (including digital).

I wasn't disputing if world sold a little faster because it did as it launched on two platforms, was just disputing your "sold" numbers and timeframes.
