This is based around World War II. There were specific countries and political alignments involved in this war. Removing that defeats the entire purpose.

Hmmm, It's interesting how you both give great power, and also low stakes about the same thing. "It's this all-important visual icon that carries all of this narrative weight."  and also "it's just a swastika, chill out"

 

Secondly, are they not called Nazis anymore? Do they not do Nazi things in the game anymore? Did they replace Hitler with a trans-queer alien or something? What is greatly changed from this historical tome that is Call of Duty 23 or whatever. Other than an option to change one texture? 

 

Also, if this is optional isn't that this being the players choice? So it's not like they're being fooled as they chose to turn off the swastikas? Why are there so many pro swastika peeps here.

Previous Wolfenstein games, when playing online multiplayer, depending in which copy of the game you had, if you had swatstikas in your version, the people on the opposing side would have swatstikas.

 

Those that had iron cross, saw iron crosses on their version.

 

And neither person was aware that the other person was having different icons display on their screen.

 

This is almost certainly going to be the case, here.

 

But these alt-right losers are getting offended that OTHER PEOPLE playing the game IN THEIR HOME, on THEIR CONSOLE, have changed a setting to have different icons.
