Or conversely just made all the acquisitions for selling them later too :mj:

which is going to be horrible.

because the FUCK is going to value Bethesda and all of its studios............for $7.5 Billion dollars?

Nobody is going to value them that high.

Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if the original Zenimax people and Todd Howard try to buy back their own IPs for pennies on the dollar.

Or Epic Games comes in and picks up several IPs for pennies on the dollar.

Microsoft already did this one around the early 2010's and was closing studios left and right because they needed to cut their losses.

Must have been a pop tart shortage

In a new financial statement, Microsoft revealed that Xbox Game Pass subscriptions rose by 37.5% falling short of its internal target of 47.8%. In contrast, last year Microsoft over-performed on its t

No, they're not fucked.   Sony sells gaming consoles, and games.   At this point, it wouldn't surprise me if Sony is more successful at convincing people to pay $500 for a hardware

The whole article starts with “subscriptions are up”

By your logic, Xbox consoles have more units sold today than they did a year ago.......therefore there's no reason to suspect that its a sales failure.

Yeah, but not at the projected rate, which was the point of the piece. I'm not sure what you're attempting to prove?

That you guys are idiots, and he's correct. Without the context of their internal projection (however created) a 37% growth is phenomenal.

lol Nothing says arguing in good faith quite like taking things "out of context" to win a point.

You don't even know how their internal target was derived, and it doesn't matter either way. You've got Sony losing 10 million subs for PS+ and it's brushed off but Microsoft gaining millions for their game sub service and it's somehow worrying.

You guys are lunatics.

It doesn't actually matter how they projected their target, they didn't make it. Crafting it to fit your narrative is you just making shit up to salve your ego.

The only narrative at play here is trying to portray a large growth figure of 37% as worrying. You guys are fake news.

37% isn't a large growth figure given that they only moved up 2 million from 18 to 20 between January and now and were way below their projected targets.

But keep spinning though.

The growth is good but apparently not as well as MS had hoped, by their own metrics. Yeah, it's a silly argument but it's not something you would condemn if people used it against Sony or Nintendo.

actually it does.

Its their FISCAL YEAR 2021, which based on this press release:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/Investor/earnings/FY-2021-Q4/press-release-webcast

It means that it covers July 1, 2020 up until June 30, 2021.

So what they are saying was that, from Summer 2019 to Summer 2020, GamePass was growing pretty rapidly.

but in the middle of the pandemic, it slowed down considerably.

This includes the most recent 18 million subscriber figure.........that was around early February 2021.

So from February 2021 to the end of June 2021, it remained anemic.

it is probably still in the lower half 20-million range.

The way you type is triggering. We need to remove you from our safe space

But you are full of shit.

because YOU HAD PROJECTIONS of your own.

You were projecting 30 million. From the last known number of 18 million from February.

So in six months, YOU WERE PROJECTING 66% growth. Hell, you were DECLARING it, that it has already happened.

And now you're sitting here trying to tell us that this 37% growth over 12 months is "great"

Only incels get butthurt about safe space jokes

1. Who's offended?

2. Incels are always the ones who make safe space jokes unironically, while aslo asking for safe spaces of their own.

We all know that this has nothing to do with the integrity of the 15th re-release of this game and just you guys being salty about people you dont like being catered to.

ha, speaking of safe space, there was this cunt who recently quit working here. she said our department was full of toxic masculinity. so, she would go inside a vacant office during lunch. when she quit, we put up a "safe space" sign on its door, for a week, to celebrate her departure.
