Except Sony bought studios that were already operating as a second-party, like Housemarque. Who were never multi-plat developers.   Or the studios had no IPs of their own, they were port dev

Did you just admit you paid money towards a game, for all the months you DIDN'T have the game?

:drake:Oh man, he's straight up having a stroke at this point.

We could also go into connections with pedophiles in Sony headquarters as well

What like one guy as far as im aware? Theres a difference between a single pedo and a shady chairty that always seems to be connected to organizations that as a whole commit abuse on an industrial scale. Lets not forget about Gates connections to Epstein.

Once again you're retarded. Like fuck you lemmings are dumb.

CoD is nowhere near the status they were 5 years ago.  They went free to play for a reason.

Its much easier for Sony to help build and cultivate a separate brand with another company.

COD has no more growth. Its the same players.

As long as the Respawn guys are still out there, out of Microsoft's control.......you shouldn't be so confident.

Yes you do rent.

Rent-a-Center.

You just got busted lying the moment Lynux embarassed you:hest:

Sony doesn't need to corner a market to try and force people ONTO their system.

People are coming to their system VOLUNTARILY, because they want to.

This is the thing you poor lemmings don't want to admit, out loud.

You're celebrating the fact that Phil Spencer is aware that nobody WANTS TO game on the Xbox platform, so he is trying to remove third-party developers from the free market.

And that's the pathetic part about all of this: $70 billion dollars were spent............and nothing new was created.

Sony ends up buying Insomniac, and we have a second Spider-man franchise, and now a Wolverine IP incoming. Something NEW was created in the video game space that didn't exist before.

Sony ends up buying Housemarque, and we now have Returnal, which earned several Game of the Year nominations, and we now have a former 2D developers upgrade to become an exciting new 3D action game developer...............something NEW was created that didn't exist before.

Microsoft spent $70 billion...........and there's a strong chance they're going to do some trimming to the existing Activision studios. They have three studios devoted to developing CoD in alternating years. I'm pretty sure they're going to remove one of those studios. (And you'll be defending that when it happens).

Isn't COD the game that sells most on PS?  Where will those players go to play the game in the future?  PS not having all these games is a huge detriment to their brand.  They lost everything from Zenimax and now Activision Blizzard.

No, its a huge detriment to the amount of revenue CoD used to be bringing in for whoever owns the IP.

Sweetie..............you do understand that people that already bought their PS5's are now past their store's 30-day return policy, right?

They're not going to be returning back their PS5's. They're going to keep playing it and buying games for it.

And this is another failure of Microsoft for buying properties, and their games are taking forever to come out. Once you enter the third year of a console gen, its pretty much too late to reverse the way things are going to play out.

The existing Call of Duty for 2022 is going to come out to Playstation, merely because this deal is going to take months to complete and get through federal regulators.

Do you know what happens when you buy a publisher for $70 Billion dollars.........and proceed to cut off about 60-70% of hardware platforms where they USED TO SELL their games on?

You now spent $70 Billion on something that is now worth much less.

Sweetie. Microsoft is doing this because they WANT to find a way into the Playstation ecosystem. Not because they're trying to REMOVE GAMES from the Playstation ecosystem.

So much drama over nothing, MS will just negotiate game pass on PS5.

Sony is alot like Apple's position regarding other developers selling and playing games on their platform.

Any credit card transaction must go through Playstation servers, and Sony  has to get their cut.

Microsoft could apply to become a third-party publisher and port Forza Horizon 5 to Playstation 4/5 right NOW, if they wanted to.  Sony would get paid a licensing fee from Microsoft, Sony would send a devkit to Microsoft, Microsoft would have to follow the rules that Sony gives to third-parties about what they have do regarding the games they wish to publish for Playstation systems.

Sony is not interested in people paying Microsoft through a non-Sony payment system, and then Sony just hosts these games on their servers, and they get downloaded at zero cost. And Sony probably isn't interested in hosting a streaming application for PS4/PS5 either.

If somebody plays a game on a Playstation system, Sony wants their FULL amount of a licensing fee for a $60 retail game, or a $20 indie. And Microsoft probably can't afford that, because it pretty much eats up all the money they make from GamePass subscribers.

If Microsoft were willing to behave like any other third-party publisher, pay licensing fees, apply to be a third-party developer and follow Nintendo's and Sony rules, just like EA and Ubisoft, develop the games to (mostly) run native on the hardware........Sony and Nintendo would allow them onto their platforms immediately.
