Tears of the Cows 1,206
Behind the scenes, Spencer was working on a merger approach. Microsoft's pitch, as with its other large gaming deals, heavily leveraged Spencer’s decades-long industry experience. The executive joined Microsoft as an intern in 1988 after a stint hawking video games and PC gear in a Computer Mart in Vancouver, Washington. Yet even as Activision fought to salvage its reputation with players and investors—the stock dropped about 15% in the month after the Wall Street Journal article — and weighed the potential takeover, Kotick and the board weren’t sold on Microsoft as the acquirer, two people familiar with the matter said. Activision made calls to try to find other interested parties, said the people, who asked not to be identified talking about private conversations. Those included Facebook parent Meta Platforms Inc. and at least one other big company. But no other serious interest materialized. In an interview, Spencer declined to discuss how the deal went down. A Meta spokesperson declined to comment, and a representative for Activision didn’t return requests for comment.

TLHBO 2,160
So Activision went looking for a buyer, but nobody other than MS wanted them? And Activision wanted anyone other than MS to buy them? This is like when a 4/10 woman is being pursued by the balding, obese Star Trek nerd, and she's trying to flirt with all the chads but none of them want her so out of fear of being alone she relents and hooks up with the loser that stinks of body odour Edited January 20, 2022 by TLHBO
