I know. Same thing with Hylics 1/2 (still have to play part 2). Overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam. 

 

Even that other game Golden Light reached a %96 positive reviews at some point, now down to 94%.

To be fair steam reviews are hard to take seriously. I've played mediocre games with a 'very positive' rating. Meanwhile gems like Daymare are stuck in the 'mostly positive' range.

I tend to agree with the consensus most of the time actually. I don't think I ever played a game with bad reviews that I actually liked or vice versa. I like it way more going by Metacritics, the simple reason that reviews on steam keep pouring in years after the game launched. How many great games that had somewhat bad early access got terrible reviews, only to turn out into a great game once the final product was out but the reviews on MC stayed the same not reflecting the end product at all.

Oh yeah I think in some ways it does have its positives, because it encourages people to check out games they normally wouldn’t. For example Murdered Soul Suspect is in the 50s at Metacritic, so by default most people would give it a pass. But it actually did decent on PC because of the very positive reviews it’s garnered on steam.
