The state of Halo Infinite MP summed up

Recommended Posts

the thing with PC games finally getting to play Halo, a new major Halo release, on day one.......and they're realizing that they don't give a shit about the franchise.

Which is just going to hurt the brand from this point forward.  I don't think Halo has anything special to offer at this point.

Halo used to be imitated by every other console shooter, now it finds itself imitating others.

Under any other circumstances a franchise like Halo would have been put on hiatus by now as it has lost all steam and reason to exist, except Microsoft can't because in 21 years they have failed to cultivate anything worth a damn other than Forza (which they now rehash every year) and Gears (which is also dead).  There's also the problem of Xbox's early years where it had no games and so the entire identity of the console was built around Halo.

21 years and they have nothing of their own to show for it, so in desperation they spend billions trying to buy existing successes like Elder scrolls, fallout and call of duty - because they sure as hell can't grow any of their own.

Strangely there are people retarded enough that they want this company to be the industry leader. I can now understate how retarded the average lemshit can be. Microsoft does not understand the videogames industry.

The 24h peak between both games show that they both suck.  LMAO Twinky... stop trying to create an illusion that Battlefield somehow won.  The difference is between people spending $70 on BF and feeling like they need to get some money's worth out of it.. and a free game that they can leave without regrets. :tom:

Both have dropped the ball massively.. and in the case of Halo, they absolutely deserve the game to be dead.  They've completely botched the handling and rollout of the game.. so fuck them. :francis:

Are you really trying to spin this to make it look like a much hyped F2P game flopping on Steam is somehow not so bad for Halo Infinite? The most popular games on any platform are F2P for a reason, it means no barrier for entry. Halo Infinite having less players than BF2042, a game that already mega flopped, after all the hype and marketing is a much bigger L especially considering it's free to play and BF2042 costs $70. In fact, BF2042 has a much tougher hill to climb considering the entry fee for it is $70. No one is going to try to "get their money's worth" out of  a game they don't like, they'll just abandon it. Don't even try to damage control this epic failure of Halo Infinite :mj:.

Is that really what you think it sounds like I'm doing? :drake:

There's no barrier to entry for Halo.... which means it's easier to just simply drop...  And yes... people WILL try to get their moneys worth out of a game they paid $70 for.... especially considering the issue isn't the "game" and more about the progression and balance.. which is in a constant state of change...

Again, both 24h peaks have them essentially at the same player-base level....  They both suck. :tom:

:mj: No just no. There’s no barrier for entry means it’s much easier to start playing it. F2P works way more for it than it works against it. There’s a reason why the most popular games like Fortnite, Warzone, Destiny, etc. are all free to play. Stop it man, your damage control is pretty terrible especially when you consider the main reason MS made Halo Infinite is to increase its popularity in the first place  :cruise:

Nah... the playerbase already played it and moved on and they feel no remorse or regret about it because it didn't cost them anything... meanwhile those who spent $70 on Betafailed are hopeful that it would actually be fixed and are more likely to stick around to give it the chance....

LMFAO it's logic dude...  There's other free to play games to move on to....  In that space you usually get one chance... and they blew it.

Nah. Both games underwhelmed but DICE is slowly turning BF2042 around, and the player count reflects that. Season 1 of BF2042 is actually super light on content but people would still rather play that over Halo Infinite which is free and has no barrier to entry. No matter how you look at it, things are worse for Halo than they are for BF.
