 Buying a publisher is very different from writing off a loss if you didn’t know. With the publisher like AB, the cost is actually worth it because you can actually make the money back over time. With RROD fiasco, it was a complete loss, no money made back, just money totally lost. Stop trying to equate the two scenarios. Arguing to buy the biggest publisher in the world for future monetary gain is a lot easier than telling the board room you fucked up and lost them $2 Billion because you suck at making consoles.

Except Sony has still kept on releasing PSVR games, and then freely gave out a PSVR adapter for people that were going to go from a PS4 to a PS5, so that they could keep on using a PSVR1 on a PS5.

 

And they're making a PSVR2, and rumor has it that they are working to ensure it is compatible with PSVR1 games.

 

That's called support.

 

You may not know about that, because Microsoft hasn't even been giving you games during this time...

The majority of Xbox userbase was in America... it was leading in America.  It was competitive in NA and in Europe...

 

It was absolutely leading in its markets at the time.  It had potential...unlike the other products that were getting obliterated...

 

Saving face for the entire company WAS one of the reasons for them deciding to pay for the RROD.  It was doing the right thing for their customers.

 

That wasn't support for Xbox.... it had ramifications for the entire company.
