I've only grown to appreciate that mentality as I have watched way more Top Gear and The Grand Tour within this past 10 years compared to pre-2010. Its just a really cool atmosphere that Polyphony Digital establishes with these games.

It's doing a piss poor job of telling a story that you want to play, evidently.  Same goes for its atmosphere.
