Remij 4,670
Wow. Intel has done a pretty amazing job. XeSS looks great and is essentially equal to DLSS.. (at least in this game) It's pretty fucking awesome that now we have DLSS2.0+, FSR2.0+, and now XeSS all providing really incredible looking upscaling. These reconstruction techniques also use a lot of the same information (motion vectors + current/previous frame data) to reconstruct, and thus are implemented in the same way.. making it easier for developers to implement the others as well. The only real difference comes down to the proprietary ML algorithms which runs on the Tensor cores of Nvidia GPUs, and the XMX cores of the Intel GPUs respectively. AMDs solution instead just utilizes the shader cores of all GPUs as it doesn't have any dedicated cores for accelerating matrix functions. Intel's XeSS also supports XeSS via the shader cores for non Intel GPUs. The point is though, they all work extremely well now, and most new games are supporting either multiple or all of the solutions.. which means that every GPU gets a quality upscaling solution for games.. which is awesome.
sugarhigh 519
I keep seeing headlines about Intel abandoning graphics, and the rumors make no sense. Their gen1 looks like a very strong starting point. If Intel doesn't have an integrated, mobile CPU+GPU solution, they're gonna be cut out of a lot of innovative segments. Apple is killing it with the m1 pro/max chips. I can see Intel coming out with something similar, but at a better price, and more geared towards gaming.
