Why is Twitter trying so hard to prevent Elon Musk from taking it over?

Recommended Posts

Ohhh look @Cooke Twitter lawyers (Musk's Twitter lawyers at that) just told a federal Judge that nothing in the Twitter Files show that the platform was a tool for government censorship.

And oooh look the lawyers also told the federal Judge the government wasn't paying Twitter to censor people.... It was reimbursing the company as they are required to do by law for complying with search orders.

It's funny how when they get into an actual court of law they start telling the truth.

As anyone with a functioning brain realized a long time ago the Twitter Files was a complete sham :kaz:

Ooh it's coming.. But fair enough.

The DNC and its propaganda press have you so programmed that you're sending angry tweets to Elon?   If the lefty press hadn't been throwing a temper tantrum over losing control of Twitter,

Don't like it? Make your own Twitter (wait there's more)

watch the hearing for yourself. Theres plenty there.

There's nothing there, except the Twitter Files getting exposed as a sham on the official congressional record. :kaz:

The two Twitter files reporters both left after they realized they were being played for idiots by musk.

Musk pulled down and deleted all the Twitter Files threads after the sham was revealed.

The Twitter Files is dead, was a sham and musk lawyers already said as much in a court of law.

It's over and as usual your dumbass, clueless about fucking everything was wrong yet again :umad:

Thousands of Twitter users report problems accessing site as Elon Musk says new limits have been installed

In a tweet Saturday afternoon, Elon Musk said that verified accounts are now limited to reading 8,000 posts a day.

By Ashley Capoot, CNBC and Minyvonne Burke

As thousands of Twitter users reported problems attempting to access the social media site Saturday, Elon Musk tweeted he is limiting the daily number of tweets users can read.

In a tweet Saturday afternoon, Musk said that verified accounts are limited to reading 6,000 posts a day. For unverified accounts, the number drops drastically to 600 posts a day. New unverified users can only access 300 posts a day.

____________________

The vast majority of people are unverified, and therefore only have 300-600 post allowance.

Simply visiting twitter loads about 30 tweets.

Some people are already hitting their limit after 5 page refreshes :hest:

And the real reason?

IncElon says its to "address extreme data scraping and manipulation"

:tom:Nope, he's making that............the real story is, their billion-dollar contract with Google Cloud Services expired literally just yesterday, and IncElon is not paying the bills.:hest:

I was wondering what was happening. The rate system is fucking hilarious considering that Twitter basically counts any scrolled tweet as read. I hit a limit pretty quickly and genuinely read like 20 tweets or something.

Twitter has been Gering functionally shittier since Musk took over and definitely in the the last 6 months. It's pretty noticeable on the mobile browser version.

Let me remind you that claims of the Twitter Files was that the Biden Administration was censoring conservative speech but it instead exposing and showed that it was actually the TRUMP administration that was trying to censor democrats or anyone that critiqued them.

When Elon's lawyers were in court and it was time to prove that the Biden administration was the one who attempted to censor speech, they admitted that the Twitter Files actually doesn't show that.

This lawsuit doesn't change that because as per usual your dumbass doesn't read past a headline.  :umad:

"Republican attorneys general in Louisiana and Missouri suing President Joe Biden, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the CDC, the Department of Homeland Security, and the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease, claim that “starting in 2017 — four years before Biden was president — officials within the government began laying the groundwork for a ‘systemic and systematic campaign’ to control speech on social media.”

Exceptions in the suit lay out instances when the government can work with social media sites  include:

1) Posts about criminal activity or criminal conspiracies.

2) National security threats.

3) Threats to election security.

4) Permissible public government speech promoting government policies or views on matters of public concern.

5) Public safety threats.

6) Efforts to detect, prevent, or mitigate malicious cyber activity.

So the recap the suit is actually about WHAT TRUMP AND HIS TEAM DID STARTING IN 2017.  (again which goes opposite to the Twitter Files claim that it was the Biden admin censoring conservatives.... And again which the lawyers admitted in court)

And the exception lists includes all the reasons the Biden administration is and would currently contact social media sites....because as the lawyers admitted in court... The Twitter Files didn't show the Biden administration censoring free speech...

So with this suit nothing has changed for the Biden administration and it backs up Elon lawyers statements that were made in court.

You thought you had something huh? Fucking dumb cunt :will:

You didn't read the twitter files and are strawmanning an argument dumb dumb. It wasn't about "Biden", it was about the government and many of its agencies using their power and influence to persuade and sometimes threaten private companies to censor users when people said things that went against government narratives. Even if those narratives were misinformation such as the vaccine prevents transmission and Hunter L's laptop was a Russian disininfo operation. Lmao. Get bent Gouk.

Cooke it's like you have the memory of a gnat.  When the Twitter Files first came out I pointed all these things out to you because I actually read it.

My posts about it are in the fucking Twitter files thread you made on this very board.  Do you do a memory dump everytime your dumbass gets owned? :kaz:

Oh I did read the Twitter Files... The premise was about the leftist government censoring the right's freedom of speech.

Remember the Hunter Biden picture that Twitter files used as proof the Biden admin censored free speech?.... Whoops that turned out to be nude photos of a private citizen.

Remember the whole thing that the Biden admin was paying Twitter for it's censorship of the right?

Turns out it was reimbursement for the time Twitter took to look into requests from the Feds about:

1) Posts about criminal activity or criminal conspiracies.

2) National security threats.

3) Threats to election security.

4) Public safety threats.

5) Efforts to detect, prevent, or mitigate malicious cyber activity.

Ohh look that's 5 out of the 6 exceptions.

Elon lawyers already said in court that the Twitter Files did not show the Biden admin was censoring the right....

And this lawsuit further cements that because it specifically takes aim at 2017 to 2020....I wonder who was president then?

Same shit I told you in the Twitter Files thread months ago.

Fucking dense clown ass... I swear you get more stupid by the day.

lol This is stupid and petty but it's fucking hilarious that he's been spending the past few months just subbing and simp posting right wing thirst traps like Ashley and the Redhead Libertarian. Even when they say stupid shit like this. But it's a fair platform and he wants both sides. He just insults and undermines one side and signal boosts the other. Most divorced man on Earth.

The quote is dumb as hell no matter how you look at it. If the land is stolen then why are they happy to use its vast resources to make money? Maybe they should shut down their ice cream business and do something else if they feel so strongly about it....

Lol you're so sassy. They are not talking about all of the country, but territories that were negotiated, then violated for commerce.

It's fine to disagree with the notion but conservatives have spent the past decade claiming original interpretations should be observed. How many right wingers call themselves constitutional absolutist? Or claim the forefathers had it right?

The only way they can call out Ben and Jerry for this is if they only say things they feel serve white supremacy and not actual justice.

They are limiting themselves trying to hold on to a past they never have themselves lived over the customs of dead ancestors. The government have given more than enough in terms of reparations to American Natives, especially considering descendants of former slaves got barely nothing (even ruling that affirmative action in some places is unlawful). So blaming the US government as land thieves is a bullshit argument, literal virtue signaling while ignoring all the things they’ve done for Natives.

That's a fair point. I say they should take the money and invest in the land they have to better their people. To some people land means more I suppose. I don't think any blood should be spilled for any "holy land" but others feel differently.

While I don't agree with their actions, they have an understandable stance.
