jehurey 3,228 Posted May 28, 2023 Share Posted May 28, 2023 to me this seems like a "throw several things out there and see which one hooks people" in the PC space. they see all of this ridiculous viral online games like Roblox, in which it taps into a specific gameplay feature, and a whole bunch of (clearly autistic) kids age 17 and down latch onto it and it becomes this huge phenomenon that we don't even notice in the "traditional" gaming space. I didn't realize until they made it very clear a few years ago, Giant Bomb hired those younger people because Gerstmann and the other older guys had absolutely no desire to play any of those "viral" games, so they simply assigned it to their new guys. This is why Sony brought in Bungie. Throw a whole bunch of GaaS games out there, and see what connects, and the hope would be to bring them into the Playstation ecosystem. This is VERY SIMILAR to Nintendo and Iwata finally saying "okay, you fucking shareholders want us to do mobile game? Here, Niantic, fucking throw shit out there that has Pokemon/Mario/Animal Crossing branding on it." Quote Link to post Share on other sites
