The Official "What Are You Playing?" Thread (Post Screens)

Recommended Posts

I blasted through Wolfenstein Young Blood this weekend. It felt a lot longer than it actually was, I was surprised when i saw that my play time was just 10 hours. I did probably about 60-70% of the side quests, which are usually pretty simple and have very little story to them. And actually, calling them side quests is generous. I was at the exact recommended level for the last series of story missions when i started them, so you pretty much have to do most of the side quests or you'll be under leveled (and the story would probably be 5-6 hours long at most without them, so i can see why they exist). When it comes to the combat, its still fun but theres not much variety to it and a lot of the encounters just end up blending together (doesn't help that theres very few set pieces to break things up compared to the first 2 games). The story is also very simple and there are barely even any cut scenes or plot reveals until the very end. Wolfenstein is known for having a ton of crazy moments, and Young Blood feels pretty underwhelming in that regard. I did go through a couple of different co op partners during my playthrough and I admit that the co op is fun. The paris environments are also pretty detailed and theres a impressive amount of verticality. Jumping around on rooftops and balconies while ambushing enemies below actually reminded me a bit of Crysis. The customization/rpg elements are also a bit excessive for this type of game but i guess they add the carrot on a stick design that modern gamers can't get enough of.

Overall its decent, but nothing special. More side quests unlock when you finish the game but i don't have much interest in going back. If i were to score it i'd give it a 7.

I won't be playing anything for months or close to a year probably, stuck in bumfuck nowhere Montenegro in the middle of endless mountains, imagine Rocky IV's training location without the snow (yet)

There's this one scene in Days Gone that is a perfect example of what the game is and everything wrong with it.

The amount of shit going on in Control during fights is next level compared to anything else ive seen.   I also started playing Witcher 3 again. Damn this game is fucking awesome. It still l

Man Fire Emblem is actually damn good.

The time management aspects are fantastic, gives me Persona vibes. There’s so many things to do and they’ve really nailed the pacing. I feel like there’s more than enough stuff to do on the free time days but the limits they impose do a good job of making it feel manageable without worrying you that you’re missing out or doing something wrong. Love the instructing aspect too.

Battles seem great but I’ve only done a couple.

Accidentally stayed up 2 hours later than intended playing FE...then got up and snuck an extra 20 minutes in this morning instead of my usual snoozing.

Might be my favourite game this year so far.

I just got a 1080P Free TV so I'm thinking I should get a PS4 Pro. Yes or no?

Just get a slim or a cheap one. Pro is only needed if you have 4K.
