Quote from: -GD-X on Today at 03:29:33 AMThere's a lot to like about it. It's surprisingly deep. You get rings, amulets, weapon upgrades...all of the Souls bells and whistles. You can actually rock two builds (two archetypes). My only potential gripe is that a particular skill caps at 10, as opposed to the 99 like in Souls. Maybe that's a good thing lol. As for some of the Archetypes, the summoner and mechanic (or was it electrician) look dope! Also, I still can't help but feel like it's made primarily for multiplayer.

I played the first remnant for a hour or so and I was dreadfully bored the entire time so I don't have much expectations for this.

Quote from: Remij on Today at 03:30:16 AMWell, when you think about it.. you kinda do need to make it worth while for everyone to get dressed up and go out there in person.  Not to mention the venue probably requires a certain amount of time to make it worth their while as well.

The beautiful thing is that you don't have to watch all of it at once.. or at all.

Bitch I need to watch this for the reveals. Doesn't mean I want to also watch 2 hours of Doritos commercials :|

Come on Geoff.....we don't need a game awards show to be this long.

I had no interest in Remnant 2 but hearing you guys talk about it makes me want to give it a DL. I already have a GP sub so there's no reason not to. Thats the beauty of GP B)

I watched the first episode of the Onimusha anime. Can't say im a big fan of it. Outside of the gauntlet it has practically nothing in common with the games. There aren't any recognizable characters or demons so far either. It just kind of feels like they made another fantasy anime and slapped the Onimusha name on it so it would get more attention.

So thats what jonb might by when he was referring to the switches :ben: i don't like this mechanic either. Im not gonna bother trying to strive for 3 stars on these levels.

So what's the problem?
I'd rather have this than snow.
Fuck the cold and the snow. :| :]
Fuck that, we definitely need some snow over here.

Speaking of GP has anyone tried thirsty suitors yet?

Quote from: Tears of the Cows on December 03, 2023, 03:37:44 PMDumbbells will give you better aesthetics and strength due to stabilizer muscles (muscle groups between main muscles that help you... stabilize) But do what works best for you, your body, and confidence

My body just sucks man. Like take bicep curls for example, I have puny wrists so I get wrist pain after a few reps of 20lb or heavier dumbbells. But I have no issues when I use heavier E-Z curl bars.

Quote from: -GD-X on December 03, 2023, 11:57:42 AMThe smith machine is fine. Just do one arm at a time, so you don't get imbalances. As for tempo, in general, always go with slow and controlled. I'm against explosive movements now, especially if you have a pre-existing condition.

Im doing slow and eccentric on most of the exercises I do. I see people go crazy like on the Lat Pulldown and yank the bar down while leaning all the way back and then bringing it back up at the same speed.....and I just can't fathom how that can be effective.

Quote from: Tears of the Cows on December 03, 2023, 06:48:28 AMWhat if you go down in weight on overhead dumbbell press? Does any weight hurt it? Ie 10lb dumbells shouldn't ever be causing pain. But it's a bit odd you're not getting any with all with on the smith machine.

If you can do low weight with the dumbbells I'd just stick with that and begin to rebuild it. You'll get stronger & the gym isn't a strength factory it's for improving health. Lift what you're comfortable with. Some (most?) days I get much better workouts using lighter weights.

My main goal right now is aesthetics/strength. Getting healthier would be a natural side effect of that training, but If it was my focus then I would just do cardio and barely touch weights (which I definitely don't want to do).

Dumbbells>> For everything as a general rule

Ultimately it depends on the person and whether they have any pre-existing injuries. Dumbbell shoulder presses for example just kill my right shoulder, even just lifting the dumbbells up to get into position is too strenuous for me.

A guy I worked with at my last job introduced me to overhead presses using the barbell on a smith machine and I haven't gone back to dumbbells since. Sure it might not be as efficient but I can lift a decent amount of weight with minimal pain and thats good enough for me.

That said I can probably do most lower body exercises with dumbbells and not have any issues.

Im almost 10 hours into P5 Tactica and still haven't finished the first kingdom. Im wondering if its just extra long since its the first one. Im hoping thats the case and the rest of them are better paced.
