Quote from: poopy_butt on March 02, 2024, 08:14:57 PMIt's also nintendos worst quality console ever. I played this console less than any other Nintendo console ever because of joycon drift. I literally can't even scroll through a menu properly. Today I will be mailing my left joycon to them to be fixed for the third time. How Nintendo has managed to dodge any class action law suits is beyond me. At least they will attempt to fix or replace them for free but so far I've still only received trash back from them.
I have a launch day switch and have never experienced this so called drift.  :smoke:

Quote from: Remij on March 02, 2024, 07:23:34 PMBut the Switch Lite is $200.  $129 back then is probably around $200 now.. so eh.  There's far more gamers now.. much bigger market to sell to.

The DVD player point is a good one though!
Switch lite is just a handheld though, and it makes up less than 10% of total switch sales. The OLED massively outsells it and it's 2x the price.

Quote from: Remij on March 02, 2024, 07:07:49 PMWill outsell the PS2... but the PS2 only served the console market.. not the handheld+console market like Switch does.  And considering the amount of gamers back then compared to what they are now... the PS2 is still the most dominant console of all time.

That's not to take away from the Switch's success however.. it's definitely a beast.. but I'm just sayin.

PS2 was also much cheaper. They were selling them for 129 bucks at the end. Switch is still full price for 7 years lol. It also served as a cheap DVD player which drove a lot of the sales

Quote from: lynux3 on March 01, 2024, 06:52:57 AMIt absolutely was.
8 years of development. 100 person studio. Salaries alone would be 15 million. Add marketing, equipment, studio space, etc. no it's not a huge budget game like COD. But it's also not a small indie game made by 3 dudes in a basement.

Helldivers 2 was not a small budget game.

Good. This includes 3dRealms, Aspyr, Zen Studios and more. Wish Eidos and Free Radical were also included. Anyway, Saber is now a private company.

It all seems to be with developers and publishers that tend to ignore the switch
