It's such a weird angle to take considering every source that deals catalogs or tracks libraries stock across the country flat out says the vast majority of book banning request come from conservative groups.

The group is behind an effort to create a web of coordinated Instagram pages that highlight perceived liberal bias at specific schools, and offers a step-by-step guide to doing the same, from how to create a specific gmail address to match the mission to how to describe the instagram account. The guide advises: “For the ‘full name’ field, use ‘Woke at [school name].’ For the ‘username’ field, use ‘wokeat[school name].’”

So book banning affected the algorithm, which is fine, it's  interesting to read about. Seems certain groups that are responsible for the Moms For Liberty astro turfing also has its hand in making other similar groups, such as "no left turns" strictly with the intention of making as much noise on social media, calling books white bigots don't like "woke" to make the issues seem bigger than they are. 

So basically trying to do for books what Libsoftiktok did for transphobes. 

There's even instances of groups requesting books be banned that weren't even in any of the schools in said district. Which probably means they just followed a template of books for banning 

I mean it's 2023, who the fuck is even going to libraries anymore let alone to find mildly adult books.
