I've always maintained that MS's takeover of gaming can be done in many different ways. When MS owns it all sony will need to depend on them in one way or another if they want to stay relevant. They have now lost all games under Zenimax and Activision Blizzard. Sony might end up in it's own niche corner if they decide not to participate in GamePass. That's also okay. They will hopefully continue to invest and bring out their own games in order to compete.

Sony in it's entirety is worth a little more than 100 billion? No way they could afford a 70 billion dollar purchase.
