Touchpad to touchscreen is kinda the logical evolution of things.

It honestly feels like the touchpad was generally fairly useless in most games, it's needed for BC. So they decided to take the concept to its logical upgrade... A touchscreen. Like they're doing it for the sake of doing it.

Well let's hope they fund a new Vanquish since these remasters are coming out of nowhere. Then again Resonance of Fate 4K on PS4 disc is awesome. Would also love Binary Domain.

Nintendo and Sony should stop using exclusives to get profit off hardware sales, subscription numbers, revenue sales of third party games from their stores, and dump everything for 6 dollars on a steam sale. Or better offer a one dollah subscription on PC.

This all makes perfect sense with a FF7 remake releasing on PS4 only, something that cost Sony out the ass to money hat. I'm sure God of War is coming to Steam and the Epic store any moment now.

Jim Ryan also hinted that Sony might do a hybrid console mixed with streaming and local hardware calculation and are looking into other options. So if this thing is 2021, I think it's possible Sony might so their own Lockhart model. It's super lame but it kinda makes sense especially if next gen high end is 500. Assuming this shit actually happens.

It's pretty amazing how more efficient rendering techniques get over the course of a gen. The difference between what UE4 could do in 2016 and 2019 on the same static hardware is fascinating.

Switch has a 200 dollar version. If next gen is 500, how are they even remotely competing?

What appeal does next gen take away from Switch that the current models of PS or XBox don't?

My issue with the rumour is that the new rumours point to Lockhart launching in like holiday 2021. How it seems silly, how do they get older games to run on it. As well as this being only like 2 years away from a PS5/Scarlett Pro. Lockhart Scarlett, Anaconda Scarlett and and X Scarlett on store shelves with 3 different performance profiles sounds like a cluster fuck.

Well I prefer that scenario as well. The Phil tweet from yesterday talking about getting Scarlett unit could be him addressing the rumours that are out now in subtle way. But you got to admit if this thing can be 200 dollars cheaper than the high end model with all the downscaling of hardware, no drive, higher profits due to digital sales over physical. It's a hell of an argument for its existence. Plus they could easily market this to low information consumers, one called XBox 720 and the other XBox 720 digital. And the casuals assume both are the same power.
