Cows & Lemmings are pathetic (X2/PS5 talk)
Playstation Tablet replied to Long Ball Larry's topic in System Wars
Worse than what? Remij's $1200 GPU? PS5 is going to annihalate the average PC's gamers setup up for 3 years easily. That's where the PS5 Pro comes in later. -

I know you're fairly clueless, but have you seen the RAM requirements for games from 2014-2019 on PC? They are all built around console's 8 gigs of RAM. Nowdays even RAM in videocards isn't that important. Actually RAM itself is no longer that important overall. -

No one ever said that, resolution and framerate are a development choice. Nowdays you can even choose between 60 and 30fps in games by design. Speaking of which, PS4 has held up 1080p in like 95% of games coming out today. -

Loading what exactly, loading is determined by the SSD speed and total RAM of the system (16-20 gigs). It's designed as a system with no loading. The SSD speed and RAM ratio guarantees that. -

Take note that the PS5 SSD will be far more optimized something PC SSDs are not, plus it's apparently soldered right onto the memory board with insane bandwidth and cache memory. This is a lower speed SSD than PS5 and game isn't designed around it either. It's going to on a whole other level. Even Stadia doesn't have loading times, and it's going to be far shittier hardware than PS5. -

Watch game development post mortems, things like character speed in an open world is even limited due to RAM/HDD. They even have limits when developing traversal mechanisms, and have to take limited hardware into account. That's just for open world games. Nevermind the 6x CPU increase which will change animation, AI, density, interactivity, geometry clipping, enviroment streaming etc. -

Because you're an idiot that doesn't understand how game development works in terms of standardisation and game design. Standard optimized SSDs with games designed in mind will produce games with no load times. Especially on dedicated hardware like consoles. -
Do we have any reason to believe Scarlett will jump start current abysmal XBox sales, other than hopes and dreams?

Going from 512 megs of RAM where linear corridor shooters were running out of RAM for level design on PS360, we now have fully fledged open world games that struggled as corridor walkers on 8 gigs of RAM. Next-gen with 16-20 gigs of usable RAM and an SSD, the sky's the limit in terms of level design. Literally probably no load times at all in gameplay, in anything. -

This thread is ironic when sheep brag about a 360p Doom that dips to 2p FPS at sub minimum PC settings. -

Why not emulate the Switch at a higher ress and framerate on PC? -

Yeah no one should be excited about next gen physics and animations with as Ryzen CPU, 60fps being more common and zero load times. Nevermind graphics. -
Reliable insiders said in 2017, that 2019 was the plan. It got delayed to fix backward compatibility. It seems to b software based, not hardware.
