  1. Well the question is how much it will cost after a year is more important than launch price
  2. Refreshes can have multiple marketing gimmicks. From framerate to resolution to improved ray tracing to whatever. All they really need to say games look/play better and the target audience will buy them. Plus there is a demographic that just buys the more premium version of a product when they enter an ecosystem and won't settle for the cheaper option just by the virtue of that alone.
  3. Way too many people are confused by this. Ress, frame rate is a design choice. Not a hardware spec or ability.
  4. But the NPD insiders said that this gen didn't see the decline mid gen previous did due to revisions.
  5. Yeah we know 5nm and 3nm are coming, 3nm I think is before 2022 actually. Plus they can just bake in next gen ray tracing hardware acceleration and other stuff.
  6. I don't know man, instant load times alone are tempting. Not like it's going to drop in price.
  7. My problem with 499 is that it might affect sales adaptation, slowing next gen transitioning. I'm not sure that there is a huge audience for this enmass no matter how good of an upgrade it is.
  8. I'm not even sure if the guys at Sony know that thing exists or is coming.
  9. I'm calling it now, everyone will sacrifice 60fps for 30 ray traced. Not that I ever expected 60fls for 90 percent of games. Amd RT hardware acceleration will also be a dud.
  10. It's going to be a good game, no one is expecting Bloodborne or God of War here.
  11. I expect Sony to have 399 model. It makes just too much sense, 500 is just too damn much.
  12. Digital Foundry We had heard a while back that PlayStation 5 was developed around a state-of-the-art solid-state storage solution (1TB of capacity was the rumour) but the gossip was easy to discount, because even though solid-state memory modules have reduced substantially in price recently, SSDs are still a lot more expensive than mechanical drives. In a world where consoles are built to rigid build costs, upgrading storage to solid-state seemed impossible. This is the key barrier that Sony has broken through for its new hardware.
  13. The only real surprise is the SSD. But we knew they would have sort of fast solution regardless because it would be ridiculous for streamed games to have no load times, but premium hardware would be plagued by load times.
  14. Reading around casual sources most people are really hyped and surprised by like PS4 BC, or PSVR working on PS5. Its huge info for them. For us it's honestly a no shit moment, but for the average person it's a huge deal.
  15. Nah. They are saying there are specific reasons for it, not same price different specs out of the blue. Price, different release date, maybe lack of disc drive for BOM. It's something significant.
  16. 14tflop is a bit unrealistic. Set yourself to 11tflops, higher than Stadia and you're still fine. Plus insiders seem to be suggesting Anaconda is going to be higher specced, which could mean PS5 is below 499 price wise.
  17. PS5 having no PS4 BC was always the pipedream Sony is arrogant, MS is making a comeback spin.
  18. Basically a bunch of nothing from both sides. We need developer documentation leaks. Even the Navi AMD reveal this month will offer more info.
  19. You're expecting a serious MS reveal? I'm not so sure you're going to get much info about next gen outside of what's mostly been leaked about 2 models. No box, price, specs etc.
  20. Cerny could just be blowing smoke up our ass, and at best we might get that Crytek vega56 level RT. Too many questions here.
  21. The rumour for XBox was probably bullshit but Lockhart being 4tflops while still having a nvme SSD makes sense if the marketing is no load times for these systems.
  22. The Dual shock 5 will be interesting to see what VR features they are going to shove in that. Asking to buy specialised controllers as a must would be a mistake.
