If they aren't even cheaping out on an SSD for a hybrid, it suggests they sure as fuck aren't cheaping out on cooling. I think we are going to be very impressed since Sony is in the best position to take a lose for obvious reasons. But I would currently expect 500 and be pleasantly surprised if lower.

BC was pretty much guaranteed. The SSD was a big question, and it really makes the price a question. Insiders seem to think 399 actually that would be another 8 gigs of GDDR5 PS4 moment if true.

Oh they know exactly what they are doing, they aren't stupid. They're preparing lemmings for the future, this is a test drive of what's to come. Sacrificing an essential option with no gain, and don't worry when next-gen rolls in their "key" audience will be just fine with it. Then again that seems to describe the Xbox brand of consoles as a whole, lemmings are forced to only give, while everyone around is getting freebies from MS if you're on PC or Switch. Lemmings are literally disposable to them, they know they aren't going anywhere.

What it means is that their goal was not a competitive price, but a test run to educate people for the discless XBox in th future next gen. Worst case scenario. Always bet against X.
